It's fun to eat outside when the weather cooperates.
All winter long we look forward to sunny days and warm temps.
The other night, a spontaneous backyard dinner turned out to be quite fun.
A "new" salad consisted of cubed cooked potatoes, beets, and carrots, all mixed with mayo. It was quite yummy and a very pretty color combo, too.
There was fresh, sweet corn on the cob:
Barbecued ribs on the grill turned out scrumptious:
Added were a tablecloth and lots of candles.
Oh, one more thing. Last year on this blog, I mentioned how mosquitoes ruined all attempts to eat outdoors. Some kind soul told me about this:
It works! Not a single mosquito got a nibble out of me. Yeah, it has chemicals but it was worth it to have a spontaneous outdoor dinner we could actually enjoy.

Your tablecloth and lots of candles collection is wonderful. In all these there are so many things which can be great that can be surrounding so many things which is cool to know about it. It is very beautiful arrangement of each and every stuffs.
Your setup is beautiful! There's no outdoor dining going on around here. :/ Although after seeing all the theatrics of reporters in the States, I could probably cook our meals outdoors. :) HA! Have a great day. Tammy
The salad looks wonderful! (Did you cook the carrots, too?) We've eaten out a few times...When we do, we try to keep it simple. It works best "spontaneously" for us. It's been mostly breakfasts lately 'cause of the heat.
Glad your weather is letting you outdoors! Not so here...surely again soon...thanks for sharing yours though.
Your salad looks and sounds very good. We eat outside on the deck quite often.
Blessings~
You not only had a spontaneous outside dinner you made it a special occasion! Beautiful setting with beautiful (and delicious food!) I have never heard of a new salad but it really sounds good!
In California we eat outside often and maybe don't appreciate the specialness of it!
Beautiful spot for dinner.
I wish we could eat outdoors more in summer, but the heat is intolerable around here.
I must have missed my invitation!!!!!!!!!!!!!
