Instead of cool and sunny autumn weather, we got whacked with a gigantic snowstorm.
I even brought the scarecrow "kids" into the front hallway from the front porch. Otherwise, they would have gotten buried in snow.
Brought the fall bouquet in a basket in, too. It looks nice on a table in the hallway.
All afternoon I kept running from window to window to take photographs. As infuriating as it is to get snow in October, it's so doggone pretty.
The plants looked forlorn and, well, buried.
The front walkway? What walkway?
Even Mr. Crow got to come in and hang out in the warmth. He's gazing out the front window wondering what the heck happened to autumn.
On days like this, it's just nice to be :

The snow is beautiful but wow, cold! Where did autumn go? I'm glad you have some of it left in the house!
That first picture? Beautiful!
Bundle up and stay warm, my friend. Have a cuppa and snuggle up.
Your photos are lovely, snow is pretty, but too soon for this mess. i donlt mind snow that is here today and gone tomorrow, but not this much this soon. Sorry for this fluke of nature.
Blogger and I are arguing again!
Snow is lovely but too soon. Last night we cooked hot dogs in the fire pit and sat before the fire. Snow was not on our radar yet. Know it is coming...I hope you get some Indian summer days for a reward now!
Oh no! Looks like you got dumped on good. So glad everyone is safe and cozy inside. All your little scarecrows on the table are so cute. Poor Mr. Crow watching from the window. Will it warm up again to have Autumn return for a brief stint before Old Man Winter really settles in? Hope you are having a good day. Tammy
Winter does seem to be coming early for a lot of folks. I'm sure your scare kids are glad you brought them in to the warmth!
Hi Everyone!
A warm (snow-covered) welcome to Buddahthorn, this blog's 253rd Follower. So glad to have you!
Take care everyone. Hugs to all. Susan
I feel for you! Last year we had a huge freeze in the fall and all the leaves froze on the trees. No pretty colors last year for sure. We felt robbed...LOL Hope your snow melts as fast as it came. Kit
Susan it's very pretty but still seems way to early for that much snow! Glad you brought the children in!
I was shocked to hear about that crazy, early Nor'easter! I agree that it's beautiful and I'm a snow lover, BUT October is a bit too early, for that amount of snow! All you can do is be happy looking outside at it, while you stay in and cozy, just as you are!
You'd better get your decor changed....from fall to winter and Christmas..haha. Keep warm!Stoke up the fireplace.
