Ocean Therapy for a Song

Hello, dear followers and visitors!

Can you indulge me while I share a few more photos and thoughts of a recent stay at the beach?

One afternoon, while feeling bummed, stressed-out, and discouraged, it called for yet another walk along the beach.

To me, the ocean is healing. No matter how miserable I'm feeling, after a walk on the beach, something magical happens.

Maybe it's the soothing sound of the waves as they hit the shoreline.

Or the gentle cawing of seagulls swooping through the air.

Looking down at the sand that was seeping into my clogs, I spotted a shell and a stone.

Picking up both, it was delightful to see the inner part of the shell was pink, my favorite color. I slipped them into my camera bag. I wanted to remember where they came from when placing them somewhere in our home.

The stone was so smooth and perfectly formed. It took a lot of time and being tossed around in the ocean for that to happen.

Then, sitting on some rocks where our children used to go crabbing, so many years ago, this sweet flower caught my eye.  Of course, it was pink and the only one in bloom! The flower seemed to be a gift from on High.

Its simple beauty immediately lifted my spirits.  I felt like God put that flower there just for me and that made me smile.

Walking back to the beach house, peace filled my heart thanks to the ocean's therapy.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE HAVING A BAD DAY?

We developed the habit of picking up rocks when we travel. Some a fairly large like a couple of five pounders we just brought back from New Mexico. I sit them around on the deck.It all started when I brought a couple of paper weight sized ones home from Robert Frost's driveway!

What makes my spirits rise? MUSIC,MUSIC,MUSIC, SINGING,SINGING,SINGING. I love the ocean too and I'm so happy I live ten minutes from it.

Oh, Susan. I love all of your photos, no matter what they are.
When I'm having a bad day, I like to go for a walk...especially with Vern! And if it's too rainy or cold outside, snuggling up with a book and drifting off to sleep for a nap! :)

Today I had a rather sad drive home from a visit, and what picked me up was, as I headed north a beautiful rainbow appeared. It was there for my whole drive and when I reached my town, I could see that the rainbow was arched over my city. That was quite the lovely Welcome Home! Kit

That rock reminded me of the movie Something Has to Give - did you see that - cute.

I love your beach shots and coming here makes me happy.
