Hopefully, each of you will have a really good Monday.
Unfortunately, Google will not let me leave comments on blogs. As soon as I write them, they get gobbled up. It no longer matters if I try to send comments from "Anonymous" with my blog address. They get eaten up, too.
It's so discouraging but please know that I do TRY to leave comments. Hope this won't last long.

Recently, I've made a determination to try to buy less things from China. This decision is nothing personal toward the Chinese people. It's just that I'd like to give other countries, especially the United States, equal opportunity to share at least one consumer's money.
Now, our very pretty but older crystal salt and pepper containers had silver tops that looked awful. Over time, they rusted and became bent. They needed replacing.
While shopping at Marshall's this weekend, my eyes spotted a small box with the words "Oleg Cassini" on the top. Even though I never heard of ol' Oleg, the box looked nice and rather intriguing.
Picking it up off the shelf, I opened it up and inside were very beautiful crystal salt and pepper shakers. There were no tops to worry about as each shaker is made entirely of chrystal with little holes in the tops. Immediately, I loved the way they looked.
Flipping the box over, there was a bargain price tag of $5.00.
Now comes an admittance of my ignorance. I saw "Made in P.R.C." Oh, I thought, thank goodness and purchased the lovely salt and pepper shakers.
That night, while online, I checked Google to see where P.R.C. was located. Much to my blushing face, it means "Peoples Republic of China." It hurts to have these ignorant moments, don't you think?
Oh well, the shakers look nice and have quite a bit of sparkle to them that proved difficult to display in photos.
Looks like people the world over are "the salt" of the earth.

I have been looking more at labels, and am attrated to things that do not say China, Taiwan, Hong Kong. Not that those products are inferior or over priced, just that it seems everything comes from there. I would love to be able to say I had more in my home made in the good ol' US of A. Have you seen those challenges where a team comes in and takes out of a home all that is NOT made in the US? People are not left with the essentials.
I have been having trouble leaving comments as well and hope this one goes through.
And when I think Oleg I picture fashion clothing.
I do purposely look for items made in the USA - unfortunately they are becoming harder and harder to find. Sandie
I prefer USA even for a few cents more...but hard to find as you see!
I do not shop often but I try to buy USA made products. I think more jobs could be had here if we didn't give in to foreign markets.
I try to, but it's so hard to find things that are made in the USA. I thought for sure Oleg was going to be Scandinavian :)
I do love buying made in the USA but like others it is sometimes hard! These are so pretty!!
