Trick or Treaters Are Gone Til Next Year

Trick or treaters have disappeared into the night for another year.

We had a lot of fun around our house. I pretended to be a (nice but scary) witch. Today, my voice is scratchy from all the cackling I did.

There were lots of candles on the hall staircase to help create atmosphere.

Another candle stood on an inside table. (Don't worry, no child was allowed anywhere near the candles which I kept a good eye on every second.)

Even a few parents looked a bit leery when the front door squeaked open and candle flames flickered inside in the darkness.
From here on in, all preparations will be on the next holiday----Thanksgiving.

Before the chapter on Halloween closes entirely, I want to explain the feathery doll in the photos. She's a parrot!  She accompanied a ghoulish pirate.

She made the mask out of very pretty blue and  turquoise feathers. Isn't it just the pizazz?

Actually, that's my daughter, the crafty little critter!  I loved the parrot mask. Don't worry,  nobody put her in a cage. ha!

Take care and have a wonderful Tuesday.

DID YOU DRESS UP FOR HALLOWEEN?

Your house sounds fun! We didn't dress up but did give out candy and enjoyed the kids who stopped by.

That mask is fab! I bet they made a great pair. And I bet you were a wonderful witch -- making it fun for all those little trick-or-treaters. Best wishes, Tammy

What a beautiful mask. Your Daughter did a great job.

Me too with being on to the next Holiday. It is my turn this year to cook.

I'm always a witch... but a nice one. We didn't have many kids this year... I have 3 bags of candy left!

In Australia Halloween was not celebrated until just recently. No children came to our door ever, then last year they did, the day before Halloween. We were conned as we did not know which date it was on and so gave them chocolate, my chocolate! The next night they were back. Ha ha, cunning eh? This year parents traveled on foot with their kids and so when the door was opened, there stood not one child with a parent, it was a group of children and a mass of parents. We had heard adults laughing for a while and getting louder and thought there was a party or something. Sounded as if the adults had the most fun.
Researchers have found the colour blue is the human's favorite colour, whether they know it or not.

Way to go to have some fun and I bet everyone loved it.

So was that you or your daughter pictured there? I'm confused.
