Christmas Lilies

One day, in the midst of the Christmas rush, someone suggested the importance of buying a gift---something special--- for myself.

Now that is usually a very foreign concept to me but it sounded like a pretty good idea.

So, at the supermarket one afternoon, I indulged by buying a bouquet of very beautiful lilies.

Once home, I split them into two bouquets  and put one vase in an upstairs bathroom and the second vase on the kitchen table.

This year, all the incoming Christmas cards have been placed in a crackle glass bowl with poinsettias on it. It's positioned near the fragrant lilies.

I cannot tell you how much enjoyment these magnificent flowers have brought this very busy week before Christmas. Their fragrance and gentle blossoms have filled me with joy every time I 've gone into either room where they are stationed.

IF YOU WERE TO BUY A GIFT FOR YOURSELF THIS WEEK, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

If it were a personal physical item, it would be a ring. If it were a physical item for others ... it would be baby items to clothe & cover & warm baby's in need. If it were for my soul, it would be prayers ...

Merry Christmas ~

Oh I love the smell of lilies - what a great treat! I'm torn between a pedicure or flowers as a gift for myself. I think that the flowers would win over - that way everyone could enjoy them.

Merry Christmas Susan!

Oh my gosh. I just got two boquets of flowers this past week and both contained gorgeous Calia lilies that just bloomed today. They are so pretty and smell wonderful. In the boquet were roses, carnations, daisies and lilies and lots of pine cones and greens...lovely. For myself I just would like family near me for my present. That's the best gift ever! Merry Christmas!

Your lilies are Beautiful! And so nice that you can enjoy them in two different locations in your home!

If I could buy myself something, I would really splurge and get a trip for two to London. Now, how's that for dreaming :) Nothing like thinking BIG

Merry Christmas to my very SWEET blogging Friend, Susan!

They ARE beautiful, Susan! I gave away the white poinsettia I'd bought for myself earlier - and a couple of days ago, my husband surprised me with another. I sure enjoy having it, too!

Merry Christmas, Susan (in case I don't get back here until next week)! I'm going "down" to read about your cookie exchange. I missed it somehow...

How lovely the pink lilies are! The pink is just the right touch amid the cheerful reds and greens. They remind us of the pastel shades we associate with the Blessed Mother.

I like lillies until they start to wilt. Then the smell isn't so nice. I don't often buy for myself, but when I decide I just need a little shopping spree, I buy a few new clothes or magazines if I can find any decent ones around here. Other than that, I really only buy candles. Over the winter break, I am gonna work on purging and getting organized so will be buying boxes and containers for that. :) Hope you are having a great day. Tammy

Oh how lovely, both the concept and the lilies! You are one smart lady to indulge yourself. Hmmm, what would I buy. I would probably buy a special ornament. I just love them and they make me feel so good. Kit

The flowers are gorgeous!

My computer bit the dust, so that's what I purchased. It's good to be back into visiting blogs.

Blessings,
Susan :)
