Oh Christmas Tree....

Spending precious, quiet moments at night by a lighted Christmas tree is part of the intense beauty of the holiday season.

No matter how many Christmases go by, the tree remains one of my very favorite parts of the season.

For many years, we had a living tree. While I loved the nice piny smell, I thoroughly disliked the little needles on the floor and rug. Plus, it was quite a fire hazard and had to be taken down fairly quickly after the holidays.

One year, a very dear friend of mine brought an artificial tree over to our house. She said it was too big for her own home and that it came with a device that made it slowly twirl around. Loved it then, love it now!

It takes about six hours to put together, (thanks, hubs), and probably another three to decorate it. My daughter and son-in-law, God bless their hearts, usually help me.

There are now many dozens of decorations for the tree plus lots of gold and burgundy ribbons to attach.

All the hard work and time is worth it. The tree mesmerizes. I love it and am more grateful than one can ever imagine.

With all my heart, I'm hoping your Christmas season is going well so far.

DO YOU HAVE A LIVING TREE OR ARTIFICIAL?

That is truly a gorgeous tree! I can see why you love it so. Your room looks so warm and inviting. I have an artificial too. We have so many ornaments that we had to use one. I don't mind, I am terrified of fire and love to have the tree up for the whole month. Kit

Oh, Susan, that's the most beautiful artificial tree I've ever seen! Does it really take that many hours to put together?? I can't imagine that, but it makes you so happy...it's worth it!
We have a fake tree now, too. After our youngest son moved out, it wasn't "fun" anymore to have a real tree....

Your tree is absolutely beautiful! We had a real tree for many years but then got an artificial tree which I love. It isn't too wide which is just what we need to make room for all of the people that gather around it each Christmas. I put the tree up early and a real one doesn't last long enough.

Love stopping by to enjoy your tree!

We used to have real trees, then we bought a beautiful artificial, seven foot tree, full and perfectly shaped. Over the years we have downsized our trees about four times, and now we have one that is the perect size for us. It is four foot, full and bushy and sits on the living room table. My happiest time is early morning when the house is quiet and I sit and observe the lit tree. Yours is gorgeous.

Your tree is big and bright and beautiful! Very Victorian looking. I haven't put one up this year. Hubby was glad not to have to climb up into the loft to bring the tree and decorations down. He would if I really pushed the issue, but I just haven't much felt like doing it this year. Best wishes to you and yours, Tammy

Your tree is so pretty! I have an artificial tree and wouldn't go back to real for anything now. I also put up several small trees, all faux! hugs, Linda

Your tree just invites you in to enjoy its beauty.
I have two artificial trees. I love the smell of a live tree, but they are just way too much work for me. I work full time and I go as low maintenance as possible.

If only I could figure out how to "do" a tree as beautiful as yours! My, oh, my, Susan. That is gorgeous.

I have a few artificial ones, but none are up this year (oh, some small, tabletop ones are....but those very sparsely decorated). \

I AM enjoying "simply Christmas" this year. Candles & carols, friends, and eventually family.

I have a small artificial tree in the dining room. When the children were little I always got a real one but now this one suits me just fine as I am able to put it up myself and decorate it myself and enjoy its beauty. I have seen yours in person and it is always a pleasure to observe it.

How cool is that - it spins? I love how you have it decorated!

Well I guess you already know that ours is real.

Enjoy the season!

So pretty! We have a woodstove, so 11 years ago, I gave up on real trees. We had to put two up one year and that was it for me. I do miss the smell of a fresh tree.
Merry Christmas.

If they lined up all the trees - I would have picked this out as yours (we have an artificial that turns too).

Yours is breath taking and delicate and dreamy.

Oh my, what a lovely tree. We always get a real Christmas tree every year, and decorate it with the traditional colored lights. For me, there's nothing like the smell of a Christmas tree. Merry Christmas.

Can't have a real one anymore! Allergies! Too messy! But the scent was beautiful when I was a kid! I am still decorating my tree! Your tree is beautiful and your friend was very sweet to hand this beauty over to you!
