Winter also gives us spring to look forward to after the snow and ice melt.
Most of us dream of what flowers will come up in our yards when the ground thaws, where we can go on vacation, and what we'd like to do once warm weather gets here, right?
While some parts of winter are enjoyable, like sitting by the fireplace or catching up on correspondence, the thing I really miss are birds.
The little tweeters that gather in the treetops surrounding our home are no where to be seen in winter. All is bare and quiet.
So, a good thing to do is add birds to the windowsills and wait for spring.

Your bluebirds are so cute. I think of a song about the bluebird of happiness when I look at them. We have birds year round where I live...I'm lucky. I hear bird singing all the time..
I love those blue birds, they're so decorative. Heard the birds chirping away this morning, even if it was still a bit dark, made me smile while walking to the office. Have a lovely day!

And yes, I actually DO have a small collection of winged creatures - none quite as delightful as I find YOURS today, though...
I think it's really neat because I have the SAME glass bluebirds along the window in our living room!! :) I know I've posted pictures of them before on my blog, but it's been a long while.
Here in Illinois, we still have lots of birds in the winter months - I recently featured a photo of a glorious cardinal at our feeder in the snow.
As for snow though, we haven't had much to speak of. In fact, speaking of flowers - the roses in my parents yard are STILL blooming, the ground here is still soft, nothing is dormant, the buds are out and I even saw some leaves coming out. All evidence of the gradual climate change of the past many years, where our winters have been less and less. We still get snow and cold, but it never lasts for more than a few days before it's unseasonably warm again.
Loved reading this post and seeing the commonalities between our love for birds in the window. :)

I have too many birds in my house! I can't put them all out at once. My friends have given me many once they saw I liked a few! I have ceramic, iron, pottery and silver ones. Birds in bathroom even...but then I have cups, saucers, and tea pots in the bathroom too, so guess birds aren't so strange there!
I love those blue birds and have three in my window right now. They are so pretty in the light. We in the South still have birds outside and it makes me so happy to see them at the bird feeder and bird bath. I love to decorate with birds. Hugs, Linda
ok, so where did you get these little birds. My MIL had one that she loved and when she died she was buried with it because it typified her love for birds. I love the look of these on the windows!
Oh, your blue little birds are so pretty on the window sill. They look like a bird family. Do you know that my favorite bird is the 'Hummingbird?' It holds a special place in my heart.
