Victorian Dolls Can Be Used in Dollhouse Settings

(Dolls For Sale in the Ventfort Hall Gift Shop in Lenox, MA)

Last November while traveling in Colorado,  we went to the Molly Brown House.  (If interested in it, you can read about it here.  http://writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2011/12/margaret-molly-brown-house-in-colorado.html  )

In my favorite place, the gift shop, my heart beat very fast upon seeing a couple of sweet dolls that could be used in a doll house.

Unfortunately, I could only afford one of them.

The sweetheart in pink  got left behind and the doll dressed in pastel green came home with me. She had feathers in her hair.

Fast forward to a new year and the east coast.

We were in yet another gift shop inside Ventfort Hall, a Gilded Age mansion,  in the small town of Lenox, MA.

(See a story on the mansion dining room at Christmas here:  http://writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2011/12/peek-into-mansion.html)

There on one of the shelves was, guess what?

The exact same darling dolls in green and pink that were in the Colorado gift shop!

They are shown above, at the top of this post.A couple more little sweeties, right below, are there, too.

Aren't they adorable?

Now, when I'm ready to populate more of the doll houses, I know exactly where to go.

Isn't life serendipitous?

Here's the magnificent fireplace in the room where the gift shop is set up.

There's a baby grand piano, too, and on the day we visited,  a stunning floral piece had been placed on top:

Here are some shots of the outside of the mansion. Isn't it unique?

WHAT'S THE LAST GIFT SHOP ITEM THAT DREW YOUR ATTENTION?

my late mom bought me one of those "little dolls", one of my treasures. Thanks again for the tour.

Oh gosh I haven't been in a gift shop lately...no time for shopping in my busy schedule but I'm so glad you found what you were looking for closer to home! Very pretty dollies.

Isn't that area of Denver lovely? On a trip to Estes Park back in 2006 we stayed at the Capital Hill Mansion, which is very close to the Molly Brown house, if I am not mistaken. Due to arriving from "flat" Florida, we stayed in Denver over the weekend to "acclimate" to the mile high city, hehe. Unfortunately we did not get to do the Molly Brown House, but do have several photos of the B&B and other structures in the same red brick style. My favorite "toy/doll" store is in Jackson Square, in the French Quarter, NOLA. There is a beautiful lace/linen shop right next to it that I had purchased some lovely items back before Katrina hit there. Then we finally went back last Feb. So happy to see both the shoppes doing well. You would LOVE LOVE LOVE the doll shop!! Yes, we brought our lovely "Jeannette" home with us. She is elegant and was bought because she matched my studio/office colors beautifully. In fact, I just gave her a hug. I was hoping to find the business card with the exact name of that shoppe in NOLA but it is not where I thought. Jeanette sits on the couch in my studio/office next to the bookcase and my special treasure boxes. Those little dolls are just so lovely. I am sure this shoppe in NOLA would carry them also. When I find that card, will send you the name. Never hurts to have more references for those items that so touch our hearts. Blessings.

Can't remember the last time I was in an actual gift shop. But I do like to visit historical places. Wishing you a great rest of the day. Tammy
