Day Trip to a Country Store with Vintage Merchandise

Want to take a walk with me through a country store in New England? There's even a newly opened second floor filled with vintage goodies.

There are all kinds of sweet things to see and buy.

Since June is the month for brides, have a look at some old-fashioned, dreamy wedding gowns.

Also, you will find old photos of brides and grooms from another day, another time.

And, of course, a bride doll or two.

There's Polish pottery and even nick knacks like this little kitty and dog.

Also for sale, shown below,  is this darling this little lift-off container.  Could she be  a butter or cheese cover?

How about an old-fashioned lampshade?  Isn't this one a
 dazzler?

Oooooo, how about a hat?

Lots of those can be found in the store on both floors!

Old linens?

A piece of artwork or two?

I just love stores like this.

By the way, all the photos in today's post were taken at the Berkshire Mountain Country Store in Lenox, Massachusetts.

DO YOU ENJOY SHOPPING IN COUNTRY STORES?

Oh Boy, would I love to visit this store!! My kind of looking. Wish I were "down the road" from you instead of "across the prairies" so we could go together.

Yes! to all of it.
I should have had a fitted veil like the lovely bride in the photo. Before my hair turned white (read coarser and therefore more body), it's favorite pastime was to cling to my head as closely as possible. Now this was the '80s, where BIG hair was in, so I was constantly pumping up the volume!

I felt like I was back in time. I remember pictures of my aunts and Mother in their weddng gowns and of the wedding party...so different from today's photos. Lovely store.

I do enjoy looking at these kinds of shops. I was thinking how many of those beautiful things you could buy and set up a tea house! It would be so pretty. And I know you loved the dolls. sandie

Thank you for you comments and to answer your question about mosquitoes-yes,about a week ago they made their appearance and they will probably last until the middle of July. This year is the first year we don't have bats too keep their population down-80% died of a virus overwinter.
Take care,
Carolyn
