Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a delightful Father's Day.

It's important to honor the fathers and father figures in our lives, that's for sure.

Saturday night, I put a fresh, clean blue and yellow cloth on the kitchen table.

I waited til my hubs went to bed, then hauled in the plants hidden under the dining room table!

Also wrapped a package of dates (his fave), pecans, and a $25 hardware store certificate.

Had run around Saturday buying those. It entailed a trip to B.J.'s, the farmer's market and the hardware store.

Everything went onto the table, ready for my hubs when he walked into the kitchen in the morning.

Now that the kids are all grown up, there was just me to help celebrate.

So I made maple sausage links and eggs for breakfast and wished him a very happy Father's Day.  God knows he deserved it as he's been a wonderful dad.

The look of sheer delight on my hub's face when he saw three kinds of dahlia plants, a shocking pink geranium, and other gifties made the extra trip to the farmer's market and all the other stops  the day before worthwhile.

The kids both called and that made the day special, too.

It's important to remember the little things in life. Once I read a saying that stated something like , "Appreciate the little things in life because in the end, you'll find out they are really the big things."

WHAT WAS ONE FUN THING YOU DID ON SUNDAY? TELL US ABOUT IT!

What a nice day you both had! The plants are lovely...I know Hubs likes plants like you do.

Thanks for nice comment on my blog. You know, some are telling me they can't leave comments because computer says it is unsafe site. Don't know how to handle that...wait for it pass I guess. Others are having no problem. Glad you could comment!

I'm sure he appreciated all you did for him Susan. As for me I spent my first "vacation" weekend from school doing absolutely nothing. Well I did get a nice haircut...LOVE being home.

What a lovely post! I had fun watching my husband open his gifts. It was just the two of us, though today we were with two of our daughters for a bit of a celebration. My husband has been - and continues to be - an awesome Father!

Little things in life are so important. Sunday was full of many fun things for me. The little thing that made my day was my hubby taking my hand at the kiddie rides while we watched the grandkids ride the rides. That is what life is all about.

You are so sweet to surprise your hubby with those lovely gifts.

I thought about you when I found this blog today about a miniature house being decorated. So cute! I want to shrink myself and move right on in. Ha!
