Bye Bye Summer Decor, Hello Fall

Hello dear blog peeps.

All through this month you have read  numerous times how I'm not ready for fall.

But as temps got cooler and days got shorter, accepting the fact that summer is on the wane is inevitable.

The big front door grapevine wreath with fat pink cabbage roses and flowing pink streamers was starting to get old.

The matching pink floral wreath on the old chair had been there since June, too.

Time to bite the bullet and put the summer stuff away, exchanging it for a few fall decorations.

The bright and cheerful floor mat, shown below,  has a good reminder:

That's what I did during the afternoon yesterday.

Now thankfully, we have a big attic for storage but I'm kinda scared to go up there.

You know how it is. What if I see a spider?  Or a bug? Or, God forbid, a bat? Yikes.

So trips to the attic can only be made in the daytime.  I quickly rummage through storage bins, grab what I want and beat it back downstairs as fast as my feet will carry me.

Now that some of the fall decorations are out, I plan to enjoy the rest of summer.

WHEN DO YOU DECORATE FOR FALL?

Hi Susan! It's been so hot here this spring and summer, I hope that doesn't mean our fall will also be warmer than usual. Fall is my favorite season! I usually decorate in mid September, otherwise all of a sudden it's time for Christmas decorations....time flies whether you're having fun or not! :)

Hi Susan! It's not Fall here in Texas, but blogland is about to push me into it!

Hello, nice to see your Fall colours.

I do not decorate for the seasons. Everything in my home is there throughout the year except at Christmas when I will put up the tree and a few decorations for 2 weeks :-)

I usually wait as long as possible and hang onto summer as long as I can. Usually late September I will change my wreaths and decorations. Youa re on the ball Susan.

Hard to think about Fall when it is 100 degrees here and sooooooo humid today ... like a sauna. I have a similar leaf wreath for the door -- maybe I'll put it up at the end of October. :) Best wishes, Tammy

I don't think of fall until at least September and maybe even October and definitely not while I am in California where it seems to be summer year round.

Glad I could be inspiration, Susan! Oh, I love the arrangement on the chair...so lovely. Autumn is one of the longest decorating seasons for me. Might be early this year but I am taking a cue from Mother Nature here who already has HER trees turns shades of red!

We are still having such hot temperatures - near 90 - that I just don't feel very fall-like at all. However, I will probably begin to put away the things I have had out for the summer after the first of September. In fact, I may wait until after Labor Day.

Susan, the spiders are horrible here this summer. Bigger than I've ever seen. Your fall decor is very welcoming. I do not change decor ... except on the front porch for the season. Everything else stays put ... once I put it there I love it & leave it there.

I'll be doing more blogging as the cooler temps come & keep me indoors. Glad you popped by.

Have a lovely holiday ~
TTFN~

Marydon
