The Lingering Days of Summer

Like it or not, summer is slipping away.

No, I'm not ready for fall just yet.

I'm savoring every single sweet second of summer!

Still have summer decor up on the front porch, like this old chair with a pink wreath and crocheted runner.

Plants in the front yard are in full summer bloom.

Vistas, when driving around town, still make me want to go crazy with the camera so I can share photos with you.

Yes, yes, summer is still here and I'm loving it. Hope you are, too.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT AUGUST?

August is not my favourite month because it reminds me that the cold weather is around the corner. I happen to love Fall but I dislike winter and our heavy rains and sometimes snow. Some things I enjoy in August are going to annual Pacific National Exhibition (rides, fair, food and displays). We are still expecting very hot weather this month so the days of summer are not yet over, lol.

Hi Susan, as an Aussie I have to say that what I love most about August, is that it's the end of winter for us! Hurrah!!

What I love about August is the relaxing days at the beach, and the long evenings enjoying a glass of wine in the cool breeze.

I am not ready for summer to end either, but blistering temps take a toll. Finally we had a couple of cool days and that was refreshing! August...later sunrise, hazy sun, school begins...it slips to autumn easily....

We've had a beautiful summer..now the heat is on. August and September are the hottest months. This year I saw family from back east during August so that was the BEST part of the month!

This August I love being in California where it is not so hot. The weather is very mild here year round. Loved your hat and table runner - very pretty.

August presently holds two special days for us. August 14 is our granddaughter's birthday. She was six years old yesterday! Today, August 16, is our anniversary. We celebrate our 43rd today!

Our summer has been so very hot, with all time record-setting high temperatures, that I have been ready for cooler temperatures for quite awhile now.

The garden has that "August look," though, so we must think about planning for the next planting - Fall!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog.

I actually like the sound of the insects and the hints of fall approaching. Your chair looks sweet on your porch.:)

Hi Susan, Our summer was so brutal we had to escape. But now we are having a break from the triple digits of July and enjoying the cooler days. If only it would rain. I llve that chair and runner!

That is a pretty summer-y chair in your photo. I love August too, with its temperatures in the 70s and mid 80s here and our flowers and vegetables. An ideal time to take some moments and read on the patio.
Nice to meet you here.

I always want to hang onto summer as long as I can too. There are so many things I enjoy about it. However,I do enjoy all the seasons but would love summer to last longer and winter a little shorter.

Thanks for all your sweet comments and enjoy your weekend!
