Knitted Pumpkin Memories....

In the front hallway, on a table, an autumn "angel" watches over a a couple of pumpkins, including a knitted one.

Isn't the little angel cute? Look at her face!

I love the pumpkin because it was my Mom's.

Oh, Mummy loved decorations and hit every craft sale within a 25 mile radius.

She was always picking up something to decorate her bedroom.

I added this little plaque to the front porch.

I love the little knitted pumpkin.

It makes me think of my Mummy, who died in 2006.

Six years have passed and there's not a day that goes by that I don't miss her.  Perhaps that's how it's always going to be, until we meet again.

Did I show you our front porch rug?  I bought it last year and just love it.  It reminds me to "Give thanks" in all situations, both good and bad.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? DO WE EVER STOP MISSING OUR PARENTS?

I'm sorry about your mom. I am blessed to still have mine though we've had many close calls.

I do love your rug.

Happy weekend to you. xx

No, we don't stop missing our loved ones. But there are many ways to lose them, not just through death. What we have today, we should hold close! Have a good weekend, Susan!!!

My mom died 40 years ago. I was 17. I have a bad memory but can honestly say that I often wish I had a mother to talk to so many times. My dad filled this gap fairly well but he died in 2004. And now I am at the head of the class. Who can I go to for safety and comfort?

Mom appears to me in so many ways but I do miss her weekly letters and phone calls. Sometimes I pick up the phone to call her and realize that she is gone but she will always remain in our hearts Susan!

I don't think we ever stop missing them. My Dad passed away 7 years ago and I miss him all the time. Sweet that you have so much to remind you of her. I am going through my Mom's house and I am finding so many things of my Dad's....good memories.
hugs, Linda

I love the glow around your angel.

Luckily at this moment I still have both of my parents. I've been truly blessed and thank God regularly for it.

Clearly, you know my answer from my blog:-) I lost my mum in 1987; when I was only 37. Baking helps the grieving because so many memories are wrapped up with her in the kitchen, much like the sweet knitted pumpkin is for you.
Much love, dear friend, XOXO

I am so about your mom's passing. Mine died in 2003. No you never stop missing them and the things we have from them - become even more important to us.

Have a good day.

My dad passed away the day before my birthday in 1973 at the young age of 63, then my mom stayed around till April of 1983, when she was 74. I still miss both of them, but I'm very thankful for the lessons they taught us as we were growing up. We had very little of the world's material things, but we were always together as a family and enjoyed times of happiness as well as sadness. Nobody will ever replace your parents in your heart. I do appreciate the sentiment on your lovely rug! Thankfulness makes life more joyful all the time! :-)

Unknown has mentioned our parents above. I feel Mother's presence with me many times, and think of Dad especially during this time. He was a BIG baseball fan, and that is how I developed my interest in baseball. xo Nellie
