Extraordinary Moment

Driving home yesterday afternoon, I received an extraordinary gift.

As my car crested a hill, the golden ball of the sun peeked through a row of pine trees.

It was a stunning sight but just a hint of what was to come.

I  drove down the hill and headed in the direction of home.

The sunset promised more miracles.

Acting on impulse, I drove behind a restaurant that sits on a lake and got out of my car.

The sight was so amazing that tears of gratitude stung my eyes.

Of course I snapped the camera like a mad woman.

Eventually, I'll share other photos with you but for today's post, I just wanted to keep it simple.

WHAT WAS SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY ABOUT YOUR DAY SO FAR?

Beautiful! We have an unexpected day off from school. Normally I would have gone in anyways, but since I work around people who aren't so committed to their jobs, and I am not rewarded for my dedication, I decided to stay home like everyone else. :) Hope your day is special. Tammy

It was 81 degrees in St. Louis and will be warm today also. Then the cold winds blow in agust of winter weather. But sleeping with the windows open was delightful.

Absolutely beautiful sunset, Susan! I am so very thankful for each day I have before me. The few mornings of frost we have had have still not damaged our Knock-out Roses, and they are as beautiful as ever!

Have a blessed Sunday!

The moment you captured is so heartfelt. It reminds me of the beauty in this world does exist amidst heartache, tragedy, anger, and hate. Thank you for sharing and giving me hope, XOXO

God's work at it's finest!

We had an unexpected visit with our niece from CT that we haven't seen in years - it was wonderful!

Sunsets are so precious! You have to catch them at the exact time or the moment is gone. This is a lovely photo, Susan, and I congratulate you for your timing! This morning, I was surprised to be honored with a certificate thanking me for the many years I've served as our church organist. The pianist and choir director were also honored, and it was so rewarding to know that we have been appreciated, since all of those positions are non-paid ones in our little church. Just makes me happy to be able to serve in a small way. :-)

Simply. Beautiful.

This morning (while still dark) my husband texted me on his way to church and told me to step out and see the sliver of moon. I did. And with it I saw bright stars and planets EVERYwhere. It took my breath away.
