Punch Bowl Candle Holder?

Punch bowls are kind of passe since few people drink punch on a regular basis.

However, like anything in interior decorating, punch bowls can be put to use in other ways.

A recent beauty snagged in a thrift store got turned into a gigantic candle holder.  I placed a votive candle in a glass inside the punch bowl!

It looked very pretty in the darkened dining room.

Above, the fancy shancy chandy (bought, of all places, at Home Depot), glowed nicely on the dimmer switch.
DO YOU HAVE A PUNCH BOWL? IF YES, DO YOU USE IT FOR MORE THAN SERVING PUNCH?

I used to have one with all the little cups hanging around the edge on hooks. I got tired of trying to find a place to store it,as it was so large. It certainly wasn't as pretty as yours though. It wasn't on a stem.
I love what you have done with this pretty one. :)

I DO have a punch bowl, and I DO use it now and then! I think I'm going to try this in between punches this season :)

Yes I do have a punch bowl, but have not used it in years! And of course it is not nearly as pretty as the one you have. And what a wonderful idea to put in candle... the glow shows off all the intricate details in the cut glass...beautiful!

I knew you would find away to use your new find! Lovely. Now, you could put one of the new pillar candles with a timer on it in your bowl. It is so nice to have them come on and go off in the evening on their own...and never worry about leaving a flame...

Beautiful idea for a punch bowl. I used mine for Wassail, Sangria, fruit punch and as a large salad bowl! I like your idea of getting it out and using it as a lighted centerpiece. Happy Thanksgiving, XOXO

What a lovely idea! I have a large milk glass punch bowl I found thrifting and love it! I also have a silver punch bowl that is used at family events and has been passed down to me now. It was last used at my daughter's wedding. One day it will be her's!! hugs, Linda

This is a lovely idea, Susan! I love your creativity! I do have a punch bowl, and it is used quite often for punch, so it stays in its box till the next need arises. The cups have not been used in a very long time, but the bowl is always good to have handy, even if it's on the top shelf, where my hubby has to get it down for me! :-) I can tell that things are going to be beautiful at your table, and you will be an excellent hostess!

Very lovely use for that punch bowl, Susan!

Yes, I have a punch bowl, and even use it occasionally for "punch." In fact, there are plans to use it for a gathering here the week after Thanksgiving. In between uses, it adorns the shelf in the cabinet.:)

Sending wishes for a good Thanksgiving to you!

Love the bright and beautiful punch bowl and chandelier! No, I don't have a punch bowl, but I do use other items for tea light candles...just about anything around the house!
