Romantic Lighting

The grand feast is over.

The guests have all gone home.

It's time to sit a bit in the living room and enjoy a Walton movie on TV.

It's also time to lower the lights and relax.

A home can never have enough lamps.

Some are to help one read more clearly or illuminate a project.

Others are just to cast a certain mood in a room.

The little sweetheart of a lamp shown in this post came from a Cracker Barrel gift shop.

It stands about eight inches high.

It's pink and transparent glass.

It has pretty baubles that hang down.

It makes nice patterns on the nearby wall.

It's a darling little lamp that looks nice with decorative cranberry glass in the living room.

It doesn't shed much light but it's a comforting touch on a tall table in the corner.

It's a perfect light to say goodbye to Thanksgiving week and hello to the start of the Christmas season.

DO YOU LIKE A LOT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF  LAMPS IN YOUR HOME?

Oh! It is so lovely. My home twinkles and glows from the light of many little lamps
and candles every night.

My favorite lamp is my grandmother's oil lamp (from her childhood) that my grandfather converted to electric for her. It rested on a little cabinet in her vestibule and she always said, "when I'm gone, this is yours." It has so many memories of going to her house and seeing that lamp light the area we entered. It will always stand for the warm light of her heart to me.
With Thanksgiving behind us, the Christmas season is coming on fast--try to breath now and again, XOXO

That is a lovely lamp, Susan, and I'm sure it brings much peace and pleasure to the room. We tend to use only what's absolutely necessary for lighting here, but we do have many lamps available in strategic areas, and they are lovely when lit. Thank you for inspiring us with that pretty picture! :-)

It is such a lovely lamp - wish I had some like it. Oh well, it's not on my list.

Hi Susan...your lamp is so pretty, I love it!!
I don't do lamps in my home....I like big, bright overhead lighting...even when watching tv.
Hubby and I each have a bright bedside light to read by.
Mum uses soft lighting in her lounge and bedroom areas. She has a beautiful beaded bedside lamp in her room.
Have a good day

I have a pink and green tiffany lamp in my bedroom which is so pretty and a butterfly lamp which sheds a lovely glow in the living room. I wonder where that came from? HA.

The bathroom, kitchen and the toilet are the only rooms without lamps in my house, you really need to see what you are doing in those rooms the rest of the house I like softly lit.
