Pretty soon fresh produce will be available for our eating pleasure and good health.
Without a doubt, I'm drawn to organic vegetables, grown without harmful pesticides.
They are part of the splendorous offerings of warmer months in New England as well as many other locales.
I cannot help but think of how hard all farmers work for a living.
During the past couple of years, I've had the pleasure of knowing the son,Bera, of an organic farmer, Mark Dunau, from Delaware County in New York State.
Not only does Mr. Dunau, senior, work hard for a living as an organic farmer, he's a musician, too.
He has an original song and video on You Tube that's a "tribute to truck driving dogs everywhere."
It's titled "Truck Driving Dog."
We often don't give dogs and farming much thought.
Many thanks Mr. Dunau and farmers everywhere for their all the back breaking work they do to bring fresh veggies to our tables.
Also, thanks to Mr. Dunau and his equally hard-working son, Bera, for allowing me to share the video on this blog!
And now, while we wait and dream of those fabulous fresh vegetables-to-come, here's "Truck Driving Dog" for your viewing and listening pleasure.
I like the bumper sticker shown on the truck in the video that reads "Got food? Thank a farmer."
( p.s. Mr. Dunau's newest song and video, all about a 2012 Kentucky Derby winning horse, "I'll Have Another," can be seen on You Tube, too. Check it out.)
ARE YOU A CONNOISSEUR OF ORGANIC VEGETABLES?
