Fragrant Lilies

As I sit writing this on my computer keyboard at the kitchen table, the air is filled with the most incredibly beautiful fragrance.

It's coming from a bouquet of lilies I bought for myself in the supermarket.

There are about eight of them in the bouquet which cost $8.99.

Yes, it was a big splurge but one that was worth every dime.

Now, I call these stargazer  lilies but if they are not, let me know, will you?

They are quite exotic to look at, especially in the middle.

There are all kinds of thing-a-ma-jigs sticking up and tiny, deep magenta colored spikes are sprinkled over the insides of the long, gorgeous petals.

These lilies are really quite unique and quite exotic and even more so in the silver vase tied with  the grey, silk knotted rope "ribbon."

It's important to treat ourselves kindly.

The lilies lifted my spirit and now, in addition, they are making everything smell lovely.

What a deal.

WHEN YOU BUY FLOWERS, DO YOU PUT THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE KITCHEN TABLE?

IF NOT, WHERE DO YOU LIKE TO KEEP THEM IN YOUR HOUSE?

Hi Susan, we certainly are due for some good weather, aren't we? Your flowers are lovely. Gone are the days when I can put a vase with water on the table. Baby has put a stop to that, as you can well imagine! Today promises to be spectacular - enjoy it!!!

I put them on the lovely glass table in my living room where anyone who walks into my house can see and smell them. I love Calia lilies which look like the ones you have and have a wonderful smell too!

Hello from Spain: I do not usually buy flowers but when my husband gives to me and put them in a vase of water on the table in my living room. The smell is always a pleasure. We keep in touch.

Sometimes the flowers will go in the middle of the dining room table, and other times they will go on the fireplace mantle. These lilies are beautiful! Enjoy them! Happy May Day!

Susan,
Your lillies are so pretty. I can smell them from here. Whenever I see one of these flowers, it reminds me of my sweet niece whose name is Lillie too.

I hope you are enjoying the spring days, dear.

Love,
~Sheri

Flowers are worth the splurge! Lovely lilies...I know their fragrance well.

The Huntress is about 3 1/2 feet tall but she is taller in the picture because of the pedestal stand...we could not afford that and hope she looks okay alone when we are finished.

Hot here today...but not complaining because winter returns tomorrow. Sadly so.

I can imagine that the smell is lovely from those gorgeous lilies. It depends on the size of the bouqet, I often put them infront of the fire place

Love Star Gazers - the fragrance is amazing isn't it and your container is stunning. I like to keep flowers on my writing desk.

Thank you Susan for popping by and your kind words.

I don't put flowers on the table very often. Mostly because of my cats. I use them only as centerpieces when I am entertaining.

I do try to put fresh bouquets of flowers in the comon area of my condo. Everyone who comes in the back door gets a nice whiff of fragrant flowers.

Okay the reason I like to look at flowers is because of my allergies - you know that - but if I didn't have them - I would have flowers every where! sandie
