Pint-sized Children's Wicker Furniture Ensemble

While driving down a street in a nearby town, I saw in a shop window a children's wicker furniture ensemble that set my heart on fire.

Unfortunately, the shop was closed.

Within a couple of days, I drove back to the town,  inquired about the set and the shopkeeper informed me it was for display only, not for sale.

Like so many disappointments in life, I tried to forget about the little set that  was intended for my beloved granddaughter.

Fast forward a few weeks to last weekend and a proliferation of yard sales in the newspaper's classifieds.

One entire neighborhood sale listed noted there would be dollhouses and children's furniture for sale.

 That one got circled immediately.

At the second house I stopped at,  there it was!

A heart-stopping, incredibly beautiful children's wicker furniture set!

It had a darling love seat, two chairs and a table.

I gasped and whispered the asking price while my heart beat at a wild pace.

"Oh, that's my cousin's set," a woman told me.  "She'd like $20 for the love seat and $10 each for the chair and table."

Calculating the figures in my head, it came to $50.

I pulled out my change purse and counted out $42 and said, "I have $42 and some change.  Would you sell it to me for that?"

"Sure," she said and I handed over the cash.

To me, this ensemble qualifies for Thrifty Friday because the set is worth at least three times more than I paid.

All the way to the car with the little pieces, I thanked everybody in heaven for such a gift.

The set will stay in our backyard and in the winter I'll bring them inside for my baby doll grand.

Honey Cat is in heaven, thinking the little set is just for her!

So glad you will keep your set at your house so honey cat can claim it now and then for herself. Your grandchild will have fun when she gets a bit older having "tea" parties with her friends on that set!

Oh! Susan,
It was meant to be...I'm so happy you were able to find this beautiful set. I know I would have been heart broken with the news the first set was not for sale, and I'm sure if it was it would have been a high price. You did so much better..very nice...

I am with you...when I experience a "miracle" like this (because really what are the chances?) I feel it is God smiling down on me and again reminding me of His love. Humbling.
