Roses in the Summertime

Everyone knows that rosemary is for remembrance.

What about roses?

Red roses are for passion, right?

They are given by lovers throughout the world.

They are a gift worthy to be presented to a queen.

Many years ago, hubs used to buy red roses for me from time to time.

Tucked beneath mounds of baby's breath, they always thrilled me.

Their fragrance,too, was always intoxicating.

These days, all these decades later, he still gives roses but by planting them by the back porch!

They are just as exquisite as the bouquets presented by a young lover so long ago.

DO ROSES GROW IN YOUR YARD?

Your roses are beautiful. I should love roses and I do, but not in my yard. I can not weed them without getting hurt. Why should I love them? Well, my mother's name was Rose Lorraine, mine is Connie Rose, my daughter is Autumn Rose, and my two granddaughters are Abbey Rose and Lucy Rose. When we are all together (except Mom, who is now with the Lord) we call ourselves the family bouquet:)
Have a lovely day.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

I thought of the quote," I'd rather have roses on my table, than diamonds on my neck."
I want to grow roses prolificly some day.

I like roses but have none in my yard. I thought they were hard to grown and I remember well the thorns from childhood. Maybe I should try one some day.

I love roses! We have four knockout rose bushes here. They grow very well in our area, and ours are now on their "second bloom." They require no special care at all, thankfully, as I am not much for having a green thumb.:-)

Your roses are beautiful!

Love your roses; great color. I do wish I had some roses growing in my yard, but just haven't planted any yet. I think I got discouraged with growing roses when I planted some many years ago in the yard of our first home. They had aphids and struggled and wilted and died. Maybe I will plant some soon; a foolproof type would be good. Your husband must have a green thumb.
