Posies in a Tea Pot

The other day, while shopping for a doll crib for my granddaughter,  with a gift card received during the holidays, I spotted a plain but very attractive tea pot.

The purpose of my shopping mission was to find the doll crib, not buy anything for myself.

But the tea pot was soooooo pretty.

I could just imagine it filled with flowers.

Yippee!  I turned it over and saw the bright red sticker which read clearance, $5.00.

Into the shopping cart it went and I'm glad.

I had some pink silk  "posies" that I retrieved from the enclosed side porch and they look nifty in the new tea pot.

Even better that they cost me not one dime since they've been among my favorite things for several years!

In the spring, I'll switch to living flowers!

Sometimes we just have to indulge ourselves a teeny weeny bit, don't you think?

Today we are joining Thrifty Things Friday on Diann's blog, The Thrifty Groove. Co-host is Linda from A La Carte.

Thanks for hosting the party, girls!

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING NICE FOR YOURSELF?

Hey I have a blue teapot that I never use..thanks for the idea of putting artificial flowers in it. I will have to try that. I don't usually do stuff for myself..it's better to give than to receive...ha.

Hello from Spain: I like your idea. Great teapot as a vase of flowers. Very elegant. When I go to buy clothes for my daughters always buy something for me. Keep in touch.

Love using the white teapot for a vase! So pretty! And...let's see, the last time I did something nice for myself?...Well, as far as buying something, it's been a while. But just doing something nice, I do that pretty often, by taking a nap, having a special coffee flavor, etc! Have a great weekend, Susan!

Love the white teapot with the pink "Posies"; very springy. Bet it would great at Christmas with a pine arrangement also, especially with the addition of some red roses or carnations!

I do have a little green teapot that belonged to my father's mother and I do use it for a vase now and then. It is sitting on the counter now with an arrangement of pine and a few artificial tulips. When I see it I smile to think of my paternal grandmother.

I try to do something nice for myself everyday and also for others. Glad you bought the vase for yourself. Wondering if you ever found a doll crib for your little grandaughter...

I love your idea. I have a pretty little teapot that was my grandmothers that I would like to try this with. Thank you. Every once in a while I head for a cute little restaurant near home and buy myself lunch. It's just a simple privately-run famly-style restaurant, and everyone is so friendly there. Oh - and the food is good :-)

That is a lovely teapot and perfect for displaying flowers. I am gonna treat myself tomorrow at the monthly farmer's market. :) Best wishes, Tammy
