A dear friend, Sharon, decided to throw out a dark green chair that had seen better days.
I asked her if I could take it from the trash and she readily agreed.
Its intricate designs appealed to me greatly.
It looks like wrought iron but is made out of sturdy plastic that, in places, had broken apart.
During "chair restoration" weekend, the chair got three heavy coats of white spray paint from the dollar store.
Hubs repaired the broken pieces with wire and glue, both of which were easy to paint over.
The chair now graces the front porch.
I added a small rose wreath to help cover up part of the missing trim but am on the lookout for a bigger one.
It's the prettiest little chair ever and I love the way it looks now.
This was one chair restoration project that brought to reality the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Ha!

Wow, Susan! It's been awhile since I visited you. I'm sorry you lost your sweet pet. And I think your estate sale addition is a GREAT addition to your yard. (Gary and I are probably not going to be able to be quite as gung ho in the yard decor department this year. Stuff may not even get taken out from under the tarp it wintered under!) And I love what you did with the junker chair! You've sure been busy :)
Usually I buy things that are new. I'm not into painting and refurbishing things. Your chair looks great!
Super job, Susan! This is a perky and unique chair...and for the price, you can get rid of it if you tire of it without any regrets. Great looking!
It looks so cute. You always find good stuff.
We have a green table and chairs that is made just like that. It's on the balcony and looks like wrought iron but is plastic. Very hard to keep clean in this dusty environment because of the grooved design. Your little makeover chair is perfect for holding a potted plant.
