Clematis for the Rose Arbor

At a garden center the other day, we bought lovely clematis in shades of pink and snowy white as well as deep purple.

They are not inexpensive plants but are supposed to be good climbers.

Plus, they are perennials so will, hopefully, come up year after year.

It's my sincerest hope they will grow up and over the long-awaited rose arbor.

The arbor was definitely a dream-come-true.

If interested, you can read about how it came to be, here:

You know what?  Looking back through a dream garden scrapbook, guess what I found that I pasted a couple of years ago?  Yup. A rose arbor.

Check it out here:

Father's Day 2014 is coming soon and hubs had simple gift requests----chocolate ice cream and dates---the later are the kind he snacks on rather than times he plans with me. ha!

 What a guy!

WHAT  WAS YOUR OWN LAST DREAM-COME-TRUE?

Very pretty flowers. I hope your husband's Father's day wish comes true! My only wish is for good health in my retirement. I hope that wish comes true too!

I love clematis. I have a lovely white one that has just climbed all over my brick wall and trellis. Comes back each and every year. I love your purple one. Blessings and Sunshine, Valerie

Oh how I love the white "rose" arbor with the blue flowers! Won't the arbor be beautiful when it's covered in blooms?

My last dream come true was a biggie - our trip to Italy in April. Although I may dream big often, I am very content with what I have. Vickie

Your clematis should look beautiful on your white arbor. Nice combination.

My son bought me a sky blue clematis several years ago and built a trellis for it to climb on. It has done so well and every year I look forward to it's beautiful blue blooms. Even tho our puppy chewed one of the main stems last fall it has come into bloom this last week and we are enjoying it so much.

I think clematis like the New England climate and you should have many years of enjoyment from yours.
