Creole Breakfast in Denver, Colorado, Rocks!

If you love Louisiana style cuisine and get to Denver, Colorado, don’t miss going to Lucille’s Creole Cafe for breakfast.

There's usually a long line to get in but it's worth the wait!

Yum yum yum yum yum

I had poached eggs with a totally delectable Hollandaise sauce on top of succulent beans with pieces of meat in them.

Also part of the memorable breakfast was a small portion of home fries, grits, (not bad with warm syrup poured on them), spicy hot Louisiana sausage and a tender, flaky biscuit.

Shown at the top of the post  is the French toast, ordered by one of our dining companions.

One of the diners at our table also ordered beignets ---- warm rounds of doughy deliciousness---with a thick coating of confectioner’s sugar on top.  (Lord have mercy!)

These are very famous in New Orleans.

The chicory coffee was rich, dark and delicious.

From start to finish, at Lucille's, breakfast is a meal to remember.

HAVE YOU TRIED CREOLE CUISINE?

Wow, looks like one great breakfast. I don't know about those runny grits leaking into everything though. I have made grits a couple of times, but baked them with cheese. Pretty good although I do not understand the great excitement over grits!

Yes I've had creole food when I visited in New Orleans a few years ago. Loved the pastries with confectioners sugar on them...I would have loved all those breakfast dishes(not too spicy for me though)

Give me bacon and eggs and hash browns. I discovered grits down south, in the past few years and like them with butter, salt and pepper. Never thought about syrup.

Hello from Spain: This is a great breakfast. Very tasty. Too much food. The breakfasts in my country are more light. Keep in touch

Beignets would be a favorite here! That looks like a scrumptious breakfast! I enjoy my grits with only a taste of butter - maybe some cheese added.

Love Creole food; especially the
beignets and the chicory coffee! My husband and I visited New Orleans last year and then stayed for a week at a delightful B & B (Maison Madeleine) in "Cajun Country". The music and the food were fabulous.

Your food choices looked so tasty. Would be hard to choose.
