Glass art by artist Dale Chihuly currently displayed at the Denver Botanic Gardens is all of the above and more.

A Tacoma, Washington native, Mr. Chihuly's work has been seen in numerous cities throughout the world.
After college, he worked at the Venice Glass Factory in Italy.

I am not much of a glass person. I am wood and concrete...primative...I don't even have a gazing ball! However, these pieces of glasswork are lovely...enjoyed seeing them and they must be extra stunning on site!
Love this! I wanted to go there when I was in Denver but we ran out of time. I have seen some of his works at the Atlanta Botanical gardens and it is stunning! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more.

This particular glass art... I'm smitten by the colour. Such a vibrant blue. Love it.
I LOVE THAT - I would love to go see it as well. Have never ever seen glass like that in the gardens. So many wonderful things there.
Went to a blown glass factory in nearby Venice, Italy and it had spectacular glass items there too. We saw a glass blower doing his work which was very interesting. Laguna has an art festival called the Sawdust festival in the summer and it features glass blowers there. Aren't the finished products spectacular? YOU got some lovey shots!
Wow, all the words you use like shimmering describe these fantasy like sculptures. I have long admired the sculptor.
I think glass is a underused medium, it has a lovely look and feel. To use it in the outdoors is a wonderful idea.

What vivid colors and imaginative use for the beautiful glass creations. I am not familiar with the artist, but his creations are wonderful. To see them placed among nature's own handiwork is quite a feast for the eyes!
I have a few glass pieces I enjoy using in my home. I have started to change over my color scheme from pinks and white and other "summery" colors and have started using the more richly colored "autumn" hues. I love amber glass and have hung my fall curtain and have displayed some amber colored glass in my kitchen window. Am enjoying seeing the "still summer" morning sun illuminate it all as I have my coffee.

Isn't that exhibit breathtaking? It was at our botanical garden last year or so.
A wonderful glass artist...i wonder how he moves and sets up his art installation with out breaking it....i can only imagine how beautiful it was to see it in person.
We saw his exhibit in Grand Rapids, MI one summer with my aunt and cousin. Pretty amazing stuff. One of the malls here has two of his chandelier creations and they are huge and awesome. Have a great day. Tammt
