A Day to Honor Veterans

(Photo taken in the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Colorado)

Today, Veterans Day,  Americans remember.

For all the men and women in all the Armed Forces who left to fight and never came home, we remember.

For all those who came home maimed or missing limbs, eyes or calmness of spirit, we remember.

For those fighting now, to preserve our precious freedom, we remember.

For all the tears shed by mothers and fathers for sons and daughters lost in the fight for freedom, we remember.

When we see the American flag, rippling through the breeze today, may our hearts fill with pride  and honor as we remember.

Went to a concert with the Pacific Symphony Saturday night and they played several patriotic songs in honor of our veterans. These type of songs always bring tears to my eyes so yes we remember!

This was lovely, Susan. I imagine all the broken hearted parents who lost their children over senseless wars. Oh to seek peace, each of us.

Yes, we remember the Veterans and the sacrifices they made and are still are making. If only peace could reign.

We always attend the short Veteran's Day parade that is held in our town. The two high school bands play a selection of patriotic songs which is very moving.

We remember.
