Waiting Out the Storms of Life....

"This, too, shall pass" is a favorite expression that brings hope, even in the darkest hours of life.

It's so true, too.

Bad times,  sad times, difficulties, problems and so forth, all pass.

Nothing stays the same forever.

Right now, the freezing temps in this neck of the woods are rather unpleasant.

It was nine degrees below zero yesterday morning and I felt so sorry for all the children and teachers who had to go to school.

At this stage of my life, my part-time jobs are all flexible so it's possible to hunker down in front of the fireplace.

For the fireplace, itself, and for being able to stay blessedly home, I am so grateful.

The freezing temps are predicted to end, however, and this coming weekend it might even get up into the 40s.

So if something is troubling you, sticking in your craw, and making you worry, just remember,

THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE EXPRESSIONS?

Oh my ... can't imagine such bitter cold. I'm grateful for my Southern roots during winter months, that's for sure.

You're so right, nothing lasts forever, no even the coldest of winters. Stay warm, my friend.

I love that expression myself - I have it on my desk! So true if you can just wait things will pass away.

My favorite is "this is not my rodeo not my bull to ride. It keeps me out of other people's stuff they try and bring me into. We like bull riding and rodeo events so adapted another way of saying this to my lifestyle. HA Another one I say to myself is "I can't go around it, I can't go over it, or under it I might as well go through it."

Nice post Susan and oh so true, but...Nothing but the Lord stays the same forever right?
When my kids were newborns and I would be up half the night wanting SO very badly to get some sleep I would keep saying to myself "and this too shall pass". Well it did and now my babies are 18 and 15!
Thanks for sharing your heart with us. Oh by the way, is your mantle pink? It looks pretty!

"All's well that ends well". It reminds us to move on and not to dwell on the past.

It has been very cold here, but the sun is shining today and there is no wind, so it feels like a heat wave!

It is wonderful to be retired and not have to go out early in the morning, altho I did meet my sister and brother for coffee this morning. Had to bundle up, but we had a nice visit and that warms the soul.

That is just way way way too cold for me. Yusef is heading back to Colorado. I try not to worry but gosh it's hard sometimes. Best wishes, Tammy
