Writers Influence The Lives of Others

"Practice hope. As hopefulness becomes a habit, you can achieve a permanently happy spirit."
                                                                                 (Norman Vincent Peale)

It always amazes me how influential and powerful one's writing can be in the life of another human being.

For example, the late Norman Vincent Peale's writing was life-changing for me.

His book, "The Power of Positive Thinking" has a permanent place in my home library and in my heart.

I turn to it again and again and always benefit from it.

It's just so, well, soothing to the soul.

Also, whenever I go to a used book sale and see a copy of "The Power of Positive Thinking," I buy it so it can be gifted.

It's a priceless treasure that I've passed on to many.

WHO IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE INSPIRATIONAL AUTHORS?

For me it would be the late Alan Watts and Jiddu Krishnamurti. I'm unable to pick one over the other, lol They were both philosophers, speakers and writers and both of them greatly influenced my life.

I guess I would have to say that Gladys Taber's writings speak to my heart. Living a simple life and taking joy from nature and all the little things in our lives can help us to be content, grounded, grateful and happy.

Love the ballerina statue!

I really love the quotes of Maya Angelou and how she writes. She is one of my favorites.

Are you enjoying this month of February, Susan? I can't believe it's almost over.

Most of my reading comes from books listed on the United Methodist Women Reading List. I have read many inspirational ones from that list through the years. The Peale book is one I remember from a number of years ago.

And if you don't practice hope and gratefulness - how will it become a habit?
