The Season of Love Is Upon Us

November is coming to an end soon----only one more day after today.

The season of love is right around the corner.

In this society, it can be chaotic and crazy but it doesn't have to be.

This year, can you take a little extra time out of your busy schedule to concentrate on the real reason for the season?

(Photo taken through the window of the the Mark Twain House gift shop in Hartford, Connecticut.)

Why not make an effort to spend a few moments a day in the  company of the little Lord Jesus?

Maybe sit alone in the room with only the lights of the Christmas tree on and think about the miracle of the precious Christ child.

He was born so poor and humbly in a manger in such strange and unexpected circumstances so long ago yet that birth changed the world forever.

Truly, it would be good to have a new perspective on the holiday this year and seek deep and abiding peace.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WANT TO CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON?

Good morning Susan, I love your post and we are sure on the same page! I love to light my Advent wreath candle at some point in the day and just think about the reason for Christmas and pray for those I love. I gives me the opportunity to be quiet.
This year, most of my friends and I have decided to try to spend more time together, forget the gift giving and relax. Of course we all like gifts, but why not give someone a little something during the year just for fun? It doesn't have to be related to a birthday or a holiday.
May your sesaon of Advent be joyous.
Love,
Linda

I stopped getting caught up in the holiday rush years ago. And this year is definitely going to be simple, handmade, peaceful, slow, quiet. :) Blessings to you and yours, Tammy

Amen to your words. I will keep things simple this year as always but even more so this year as I won't be putting up the tree. I will just have nice lights and greenery around and enjoy. Every year putting up the tree early enough causing me angst so this year I will not do it, lol. Good to try new things. I've already done my shopping too. Now just need to wrap them up.

I'm not changing anything in my life..I love it just the way it is. I'm grateful for each and every day of life the Lord gives me. Advent is upon us and now is the time to reflect and wait for our King!

Did you see the movie War Room? It talked just about something like this. I agree with you.

I want to celebrate Jesus this year.
