More Than Just "Silverware"

It's true that one can use any kind of forks, knives, and spoons with which to eat.

However, I think it's good to use things that appeal to a person such as colors and patterns that make one feel happy.

My very favorite silverware pattern is Michelangelo by Oneida.

Several years ago, I bit the financial bullet and bought a set for eight.

Lately, we have been short on spoons.

Like missing socks in the wash, I don't know how they disappeared.

While browsing in a Goodwill thrift store, some new silver spoons were stored in a glass-fronted cabinet used for higher priced items.

Sure enough, they were by Oneida but in a pattern similar to Michelangelo.  They were not an exact match but were close enough.

The "new to our household" spoons are the ones photographed in today's post.

At $2.99 each, they came home with me.

Yippah!

IF YOU ARE A THRIFT STORE SHOPPER, DO YOU LOOK FOR SPECIFIC ITEMS OR WHATEVER RANDOM TREASURES YOU MAY FIND?

Both! Sometimes I have a mental list of items I'm looking for but I always just look to see what treasures can be found!

I don't shop in thrift stores...I like your spoons though. I need forks myself.

We also needed spoons and I found several in my pattern at Goodwill. I love thrifting.

There is a web site that has just about every pattern - but they are much more expensive! And they probably get thrown away by accident. I have had that happen.

My thrift store excursions are fewer and fewer, but now and then I still enjoy the adventure. Usually, I have no one thing I'm looking for. I just enjoy the experience.
Your spoons are sweet, by the way :)
