Relishing Roses

Roses are the queens of the flower world.

A dozen of red roses for Mother's Day brought love for almost two weeks.

A dear person gave me a belated Mother's Day gift---a single pink rose with baby's breath.

The little darling flower in my favorite color spent the night in a crystal vase on the table near my bed.

As Alexandra Stoddard, interior designer, writer, and lover of life extraordinaire has advised,  it's wise to surround one's self with beauty.

Seeing the exquisite pink rose right before sleep brought peace.

Eventually, I moved pink rosy to the upstairs bathroom where her beauty could be shared.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT ROSES?

Roses are so delicate and aromatic. Your s is gorgeous and brought such joy. This year my flowers are flourishing outdoors, which makes me happy.

I love the smell. I have yellow, pink and red mini roses that are out in my backyard right now. They brighten up the place. I love roses. My red rose plant is coming along good too.

Although my favorite flowers are peonies, roses are high on my adore list as well. I love their fragrance and, of course, their wide array of color. We have a public rose garden here in Boise, and I love meandering through there. Probably my fave is the Rio Samba, which is pink, yellow, and orange. It always reminds me of a sunset.

Such a pretty pink rose, Susan. It sounds like you got to enjoy it for awhile.

There is so much that I love about roses, probably too much to write, but one of my favorite things is that they are sturdy and can survive the harshest weather. They are just pretty with a lovely scent. They go way back in time, which makes them even more special. And I think you said it best.....roses are the queen of the flower world (to me, anyways). : )

Their simplicity is exquisite.

Roses are such beautiful flowers. I love their exquisite fragrances. I lament that they make roses these days without scent. How can that be. It must be like tearing their souls apart to do that.

Your rose is so pretty. And I love Alexandra's good advice to surround ourselves with beauty.

Wishing you a happy day...Brenda xox
