The Eve Before New Year's Day

The magical, star-speckled Christmas holidays are now behind us.

A new year begins soon.

This is always a time that takes me back through the year that just passed and propels me forward to think of what I'd like to happen in the new year to come.

There are moments of sadness in the memories, such as friends and loved ones who have gone to the other side in 2018. Their leaving us guarantees our lives will never again be the same.

Despite the disappointments and sorrows we have encountered in the past year, the new year holds promise.

It feels like being a child again,  receiving a beautifully  wrapped package that can be opened only one inch at a time.

I wish you forgiveness, gentleness, gratitude, kindness, laughter, and serenity in the year ahead.

May you find many reasons to smile each and every day.

Look on the bright side.  Do what you can to help others. Be your best.

So as we gallop toward a whole new year of life, go forward in peace!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN IN THIS COMING YEAR?
