Let There Be Light

Candlelight brightens anyplace it is allowed to flicker.

It changes the entire aura of a room.

Strings of white lights on an indoor (faux) tree also add immense comfort to a space.

One can never stop adding touches that create ambiance in the place where one lives.

A few candles in front of a three-way mirror look like many candles are burning but they are just reflections.

The (faux) candles look so real that it'd be impossible to believe they are not real.

A company named Luminara makes them and they are worth every dime to purchase them.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO ADD COMFORT AND AMBIANCE TO A ROOM?

Let There Be Light

The light coming from a "new" lamp comforts on a dark and rainy evening.

A light with a shade in one's favorite style, like Victorian, makes a person smile when it is switched on in a dark living room.

Obviously, lights are very important in a home.

The Creator is a light in our lives, too.

He is the "light of the world."

His word is a "lamp unto our feet."

His light burns brightly in the darkest times of our lives.

So, "let there be light."

I hope your Sunday will be everything you want it to be and may your heart and spirit be filled with light.

Lamps in Many Styles

Lighting in a house is very important.

One can never really have too many lamps.

Some really help light up a room.

Others are used to create a mood.

Visiting the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massahuchusetts, and seeing some of the lamps in the gift shop, as well as some even in the ladies' room, is enough to make a romantic person's heart beat faster.

The lights below can be found in the ladies' room. Aren't they the pizazz?

All of the photos in this post were snapped at the Red Lion Inn.

Mini Miracle at Christmas: Let There Be Light

Outside decorations at our house are on my husband's "to do" list.

We have opted for white lights for many years.

He does a great job stringing them on two front porch posts, a couple of bushes and so forth.

This year he added a white spiral tree that used to be on the side porch.

Lo and behold, when he set the tree up and finally plugged it in, a section of lights toward the top were dark.

I begged and pleaded with him to add more lights because, to me,  the darkened section was very  noticeable but he didn't buy it.

Too much trouble. Some of the lights were dead but the rest that worked were good enough, he said.

Well, I wasn't going to whine about such a silly thing, especially at Christmas time.

Plus, he did a great job with the rest of the lights in the yard, so be it.

Last night he came into the kitchen with a great big smile.

"A mini-miracle," he said.  I was dying to find out what it was.

Well, he had looked outside the front window and somehow, some way, the darkened section of the tree lit up on its own.

Was it the Christmas elves?

I ran to the window, looked out and felt so happy over our first Christmas mini-miracle.

HAVE YOU HAD ANY MINI-MIRACLES IN YOUR LIFE LATELY?
