The Light of the World

Throughout our lives, we are given gifts for all kinds of occasions.

Some, we choose to keep for a long time while others stay with us for awhile and then we pass them on.

A little white angel, with hearts that come in many colors, is one of the keepers.

A very dear friend, Jana, gave me this little angel.

While we haven't seen each other in many decades, Jana is close to my heart.

She is a master at giving really unique and beautiful gifts.

Every night, when it's time to go to bed, the angel automatically turns on.

So when I walk into the bedroom, her little heart, (this month in aqua), is the light that welcomes me.

Nearby, on the dresser, is what I call the "rainbow" cross.

It's transparent and simple but, when placed in a window, with the sun behind it, it fills the room with hundreds of rainbows.

Both of these gifts, to me, represent the Lord, who brings us unparalleled happiness and peace.

He is, indeed, also the light of the world.

May your Sunday be blessed.

A Blessed Easter to All

HE HAS RISEN AND IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!

Wishing everyone reading this a most blessed and abundant Easter.

Christ rising from the dead after horrific suffering and being in a tomb for three days gives hope to our world.

He is the light of the world!

I was blessed to attend an Easter Vigil at church last night that is always inspirational and very meaningful.

Seeing more than 100 people holding lighted candles in a darkened church and a fire crackling on the altar was quite breathtaking.

It symbolized that Christ is, indeed, the light of the world.

There was music, singing, a confirmation, and meaningful prayers.

The service evoked feelings of deep gratitude and immense peace.

Of all the gifts my parents and grandparents ever gave me, and there were many, the gift of faith is the greatest of all.

I imagine it will remain that way until I take my last breath on earth.

May each of you be filled with peace and joy this glorious Easter day!

A happy and love-filled  Easter to all!

Father Christmas, Bring Us Light

Candlelight is beautiful any time of the year but especially at Christmas.

I like to burn scented candles that make any room smell wonderful.

In one room downstairs, the Father Christmas figure shown at the top of this post sits on a counter.

Light from a tea light inside pours through the stars in his white coat.

Light pours from another Father, as well--- our Heavenly Father.

In one song we've often sung at church, the words dance in my head:

"He is the light of the world, let Him shine down upon us..."

This holiday season, amid the hustle and the bustle, let's take time to feel His light pouring down upon us, filling us with unparalleled peace, serenity and love.

HOW DO YOU BRING LIGHT INTO YOUR LIFE?
