Our enclosed side porch is filled with little touches of loveliness such as white wicker child-sized (how it was acquired can be found here) as well as adult furniture and lacy pillows, all picked up at yard sales.
There's also a birdcage that is a do-over (more about it here) and a lovely rose-covered ball ( more about it here) hanging above a chair covered with a pretty pink afghan.
The chandy I got for $10 at a Habitat for Humanity Restore and gave it a complete make-over! (Original post can be found here.)
The black urn with pink and yellow roses struck me as quite lovely, too.
When the weight of the world, and all the sad news, begins to get me down, all I have to do is take a trip to the side porch.
There, sitting in silence, surrounded by favorite, pretty things, once again peace and tranquility can be found.
WHERE DO YOU GO TO FIND PEACE AND TRANQUILITY?

A pretty room for sure and one where you can rest and have some time to read and pray. Love the way you have those lights above the windows!
Looks like a very cozy place to relax. xo Laura
Your side porch surely does look peaceful, Susan, with all the chairs, pillows, and special items you love. When I need peace, I sometimes go to the church to pray, and I always find peace in nature. Just this morning, I went to the park and listened to nature's song and felt peace all around me.
