A Highlight of the Season--Harp

My late maternal grandmother, a native of Poland, used to say that harp music was heavenly.

There is nothing I could agree with more.

It is truly the most splendorous of all instruments.

Listening to harp music transports a person to another more peaceful, heavenly realm.

It calms, soothes, and touches the soul.

So one of the highlights of the Christmas season for me was listening to one of my talented sisters play her harp just for me.

It's an incredibly difficult instrument to play and my sister has mastered it.

As the gentle, angelic music flowed from her harp, many of the loved ones who have gone from this life to the next realm came to mind.

Tears were from a happy place, though, not sadness.

 They were Christmas tears from listening to harp music, played so lovingly and evoking the generosity and kindness of the harpist.
