Home Is Best

There really is something to be said for the expression, "There is no place like home."

Home is where we can be totally ourselves.

It is a shelter in the storms of life.

It is a place where we feel safe and loved.

When I read about all the millions of refugees in the world, without homes, it crushes my heart.

Or when I see homeless people, right here in the USA, it saddens me greatly.

Today, I hope you find peace and love in your home.

WHAT IS HOME TO YOU?

You have written what home should be and I know my home was safe and caring. Plenty of food and clothing and opportunities. My parents gave me a firm foundation
of right and wrong.
As a former teacher of young children I know first hand that many children do not have a good home. Sometimes from neglect and sometimes because of circumstances.

I agree with you - you can travel all over the world - but there is no place like home.

Home is where the heart is ...There is no place like home. I hope I'm in mine until I meet the lord.

Our little home is a safe haven. I lived 7 years of my adult life without running water or a bathroom in the house. Let me tell you, that truly makes you appreciate all the luxuries of home: indoor plumping, a hot shower, my own bed made up with white sheets and cozy quilts, a pantry filled with food . . . we are blessed. I wish that every person on this earth could have those basic things, plus a place to shut the door and feel safe. Some nights when it is cold outside and I crawl into my warm comfy bed I think to myself that somewhere there is a woman my age crawling into a cardboard box or sleeping in her car. It is truly a shame. Don't get the idea that I was ever homeless, that's not true, I just lived remotely without the luxuries of running water.
Wow! I didn't mean to write so much, but you asked, LOL

You are so right. Home is where we can BE. The world is in a sad situation, with disasters, catastrophies and illness. My heart and prayers seem insufficient, but all I can do is pray. I pray for you and your, too.

Your words are so true here, Susan. It saddens me too when I read about people who are without homes in the world, or they're living in run down shacks that are falling apart in the harsh weather conditions. Home is so important to me too, dear friend, and I loved your post about "home." The words on your picture frame are so nice.

Home is just my little house on a little plot of land in my favorite town. May I never have to leave it. 😊 Love, Kit

Home is definitely comfort. And it is my favorite place to be. Even if it might not be in the right place for me. It is still my daily refuge. It's really heartbreaking to know that so many don't have that peace and knowing of safety and shelter.
