My Mom used to recite a poem about daffodils by heart when I was a kid.
I think it was William Wordsworth's poem about daffodils but I'm unsure. Too many decades of life have whizzed on by.
It's a great poem, though.
Whenever I see many, many bouquets of perky little yellow daffodils nestled among purplish, periwinkle blue colored violets, I reach for my camera.
They are SO utterly beautiful.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT DAFFODILS?

I love daffodils. They are such a lovely spring flower, but they do not last long at all. I have some baby ones in a planter in my backyard, but they have already bloomed and died. I learned a lovely song about them when I was in grade school and still remember the words.
It's nice that the daffodil reminds you of your Mom. Yellow and Purple seem to go together, don't they? I don't know a lot about daffodils, but they sure are pretty cheerful flowers.
