Oh You Beautiful Doll (Face)

Have you ever gone shopping for something specific and come home with more than you planned?

Gosh, that happens to me a lot! ha!  Maybe it's the compulsive part of my personality that makes that occur. (Ya think?)

This weekend, it was off to Marshall's to find something to wear to a wedding shower for men and women (around here, we call it a Jack and Jill).

I had also planned to pick up a couple of things for my daughter's April birthday.

As I wheeled the mini-shopping cart around the store, there she was. The "gah-geous" diva with the black feather hat that has a row of "rhinestone" sequins along the rim.  She also wears pearl earrings and a pearl and "diamond" pin on her shiny black collar. She's very made-up with luscious lips and long eyelashes on the bottom of the one dark eye that shows.
"Ooooo lah lah,"  my inner muse whispered to me. "She'd look fabulous on one of the walls in your home."

"Oh, come on, " I told the muse.  "Do I NEED a black feathered diva?"   Of course, the answer was "no" but somehow,  Miss Lah Lah landed in the shopping cart anyway! Can you imagine that?

The saleslady who rang her up ooooed and ahhhhhed over her. She even called another saleslady over to get a look at Miss Lah Lah.  It looked like I wasn't the only one who went crazy over her.

So now there's a need to find the right spot in the house for her. In the meantime,  every time my eyes glance in her direction,  I get a real kick out of her.

Can't help singing my late Mom's song, "Oh, you beautiful doll, you great big beautiful doll..."

By the way, she's made by http://www.uniquecreations-sf.com/

She is all that and more! Love those lips. She's got that sassy look about her. Her face reminds me of Dolly Parton. I can see her in a movie saloon about the old west. Great buy.

She is definitely gah-geous! She reminds me of vintage ceramic "lady's head" vases, some of which had "real" earrings and are all fabulously made up.

I know you'll find a place for her! She seems to "fit" with the rest of your interesting collection theme....

And I LOVE the idea of Jack and Jill showers!
