Cardinals, Canaries, Robins, Sparrows, and "Seashellers?" : Artistic Birds Made from Treasures of the Sea

Today we are participating in Cindy's Friday Show and Tell at My Romantic Home. Go to her blog button in the sidebar  to see all the participants in this weekly fun party. Thanks, Cindy, for hosting Friday Show and Tell.

The ingenuity of human beings never ceases to amaze.

People can make something unique, or beautiful, or funny out of almost anything.  Once, when traveling near a beach in Mexico, children roamed the sandy shore, selling all kinds of doodads.  One could pick up a colorful blanket, basket, or any other number of crafts at very reasonable prices.

Most could be passed-up but a group of absolutely adorable birdies on a "tree" stole my heart.  Everything, the birds and the tree were fashioned entirely from seashells!  Imagine the creativity that took.

We are talking "tiny" here since the birds measure less than one inch each.  The main shell on the bird "tree" has a delicate pink interior.

Here's what the birdie "tree" looks like from the back:

This sweet treasure has been a part of our household now for several decades.  Right now, it's perched on the counter in an upstairs bathroom.

This little fellow is at the base of the tree. Maybe
he's getting some shade from the hot Mexican sun!

WHAT OTHER KINDS OF ART ITEMS HAVE YOU SEEN MADE FROM SEASHELLS?

My grandma had some shells that were made into scenery with flamingos made of shells and everything - a cute table top decoration gift from someone who had been to Florida on vacation! Once in a while I see these, and it always reminds me of her!

This is absolutely adorable. I do have a boat made from seashells. I had a lady but she fell and broke. Not sure were I put her and her pieces now. I also have an Arabic teapot on wood fashioned from shells that hangs in my living room.

Have a fabulous Friay! :) Tamy

I love seashells! whenever I get to go to the beach, I love to walk and search for these precious natural gems. I don't own, though, any art made with them, yet, them alone are beautiful to look at. I take them out every summer, and display them, thinking of the beach and the beautiful see every time I see them.
Aren't people clever? Beautiful tree!! If only human beings could use their mind for ONLY nice and good things...
have a lovely Friday!!

Hi Susan,
I absolutely love those little shell birds. They are so danged cute. What a great idea. Such a sweet decoration.

I also wanted to tell you about the Sweet Annie. Do not order from Pioneer Heritage Shoppe. I just received a shipment from them and this is by far the worse sweet Annie I've ever gotten.I'm returning it. It smells and looks awful. Go with the The Flower Patch. She has a shop on Etsy, too. Her stuff is very, very high quality and smells wonderful.

Hope you have a great weekend,
Susan

The birdies are adorable and it is amazing that one person sees seashells and puts them in a bowl and someone else sees birds and creates this cute piece of art!
