Flowers of Every Color and Design Lift the Spirit

One sunless, still very cold day recently, we took a day trip guaranteed to lift our spirits.

It was to Ward's Nursery and Garden Center in Great Barrington.  (It's important to state this blog does not push products, places, or specific businesses. Instead, I just share random discoveries in this blog.)

When we first got to the nursery, we pushed a cart along the stands filled with dozens of perennial plants, including pretty blue bugle weed.

The pink azaleas looked luscious enough to bury one's face in and the sunshiny yellow forsythia screamed "spring is here." But  it didn't feel like spring since it  was so darned cold. Even with a warm scarf wrapped around my neck,  I was shivering so we beat it inside.

How delightful  to see so many beautiful plants!  Stunning blue and pink hydrangea made eye-catching displays.

Brilliant red geraniums will, hopefully,  eventually fill window boxes at our house this year.

The begonias made me think of my maternal grandmother who always had some of them growing.

By the time we left the nursery, our moods had lifted considerably, despite the fact the sun was no where to be seen and the temps made our teeth chatter. We took care of that with cups of hot, delicious coffee!

Nothing like a day trip to see flowers to chase away the doldrums.

You made it look like summer! Our last day trip was yesterday with my daughter who is visiting us. We spent the day wandering the outlets and had a wonderful time!

Oh my Susan! First, I can't believe it is still freezing over there. Sure is heating up over here. But what a great place to visit when you need some cheer and color! Absolutely gorgeous plants. So brilliant and beautiful! Those forsythia are fantastic. I can see Hydrangeas are a bit expensive but so worth having. My little pink and red geraniums sure aren't enjoying the heat and dust of late. :/ Our internet is in working order again. Woohoo! Hope all is well. Best wishes, Tammy

To the beach!, just a few days ago. Just like flowers, the ocean, the sun, and tropical nature around lift spirits.
Beautiful flowers! Many of which are in my patio, blooming under the summer sky. Aren't those geraniums?, not begonias? Or could I be mistaken? We have an orange/red one and a pink one at home. They smell quite unique, don't you think?
thanks for sharing! have a lovely day!

Certainly beautiful and everyone is so ready. Here we wait still....for days, the wind has been gale force! Then there are more storms in forecast. Can't complain as so many folks have had the worse twister air! I bought one geranium I am draggin in and out...the ferns are standing up well so far. They too wait for wind to stop and to be hung in a nice place, shouting out "Spring is here now!"
