Flowers of Every Color and Design Lift the Spirit

One sunless, still very cold day recently, we took a day trip guaranteed to lift our spirits.

It was to Ward's Nursery and Garden Center in Great Barrington.  (It's important to state this blog does not push products, places, or specific businesses. Instead, I just share random discoveries in this blog.)

When we first got to the nursery, we pushed a cart along the stands filled with dozens of perennial plants, including pretty blue bugle weed.

The pink azaleas looked luscious enough to bury one's face in and the sunshiny yellow forsythia screamed "spring is here." But  it didn't feel like spring since it  was so darned cold. Even with a warm scarf wrapped around my neck,  I was shivering so we beat it inside.

How delightful  to see so many beautiful plants!  Stunning blue and pink hydrangea made eye-catching displays.

Brilliant red geraniums will, hopefully,  eventually fill window boxes at our house this year.

The begonias made me think of my maternal grandmother who always had some of them growing.

By the time we left the nursery, our moods had lifted considerably, despite the fact the sun was no where to be seen and the temps made our teeth chatter. We took care of that with cups of hot, delicious coffee!

Nothing like a day trip to see flowers to chase away the doldrums.
