Every autumn, the scarecrow "kids" come down from the attic to decorate and welcome all guests and mail delivery people.
One morning when I went out to the porch, the little sweet pig-tailed scarecrow was gone! Vanished! Disappeared! S-T-O-L-E-N.
Anyway, I still had three darling scarecrows so figured that was enough. With a dried flower arrangement on a chair, a leaf wreath on the door, and a second autumn wreath hanging near the mailbox, any additional decorations might be overkill.
This week while in Connecticut, there, before my very eyes, was a huge Christmas Tree Shops---one I'd never been in before. So while hubs did some work, I perused this wonderful store.
In a way, she reminded me of the pig-tailed scarecrow that had been stolen.
Did I need another scarecrow? Noooooo.
Did the porch need more decorations for fall? Nooooo.
Did I buy her? Yessssssss.
Am I glad? Definitely. She's the cutest little "thang."
Best of all, she has a little "brudder" that I put her near. They are like a long lost pair of siblings and go perfectly together.

How sad that someone stole you scarecrow! I do love this new little girl and her brother! Sweet! Thanks for your sweet email. I wish I knew why you can't leave a comment on my blog. hugs, Linda
Someone once stole a beautiful full size American flag I received FREE from the Hershey's co. by saving hundreds of candy wrappers courtesy of all my co workers. It was during Desert Storm. I think people that steal are mean and self centered! I love the scarecrow girl! Sweet!
I have three skeletons, two pumpkins and a spider decorating my front porch right now. Love your scarecrows.
Tie them up, I mean tie them down in case the thief returns. The scarecrow kids are cute!
Adorable scarecrows! I thought things like that only happened here in the UK (people ruining such lovely things or stealing them!)but carry on making the world a brighter place! I made a full size scarecrow last year and he has been in the garden ever since. He is a bit faded and needs re-stuffing but dont we all! Hope to give him a makeover this weekend. Always enjoy visiting your blog! Lots of love AnneMarie xx
One time I put a big swan basket outside my front door for decoration and someone came along and decided they liked it so much they ran off with it. It's a good thing that only one of your little scarecrows was toted off. Your newest addition to the porch family is very cute. Have a fab day. Tammy
First of all - I am so sorry someone stole it - it must be beautiful - but no stealing!
And I love your decorations - they are so pretty - so crisp and bright!
I don't have scare crows but I do have scary rats - yes I do - not real ones - ones for my GS!
Love, sandie
Shes's a cutie, Susan!
I love them! I was drooling over a pumpkin to decorate and didn't even do that!
I don't ... but if I had these cuties I might! :)

Your scarecrows are adorable!
Isn't it awful when you feel like you need to chain things down to keep them from getting stolen. I have had the same experience. Last spring, someone stole 2 large iron urns that were flanking the steps up to my porch. I heard her car in the circular driveway & saw what she was doing, rushed to the front door, but she made a getaway! It was about 11:00 at night & she had her headlights off.
