Well, the Christmas season is in full swing.
Besides cooking, decorating, planning, wrapping, and madly crossing things off the gargantuan "to do" list, I'm also singing, laughing, enjoying, hoping, and loving every second of this magnificent season.
Today, amid the hustle and bustle, why not plan to stop, for even a moment. Think of the reason we even have Christmas. When I think about this, it never ceases to amaze me, even after so many decades of life.
The manger scene shown above is a favorite of mine. It's so pretty. Mary looks young, sweet, and attentive to her little baby son. Joseph is nearby, protecting his young family.
The angel in the background was a new addition a couple of years ago.
I put the manger scene on the table in the front hallway. When home, I like to burn a little votive candle in a red glass holder near the baby Jesus.

Your nativity scene is gorgeous and I love the idea of the candle - so nice this season - yes Susan - I love it! sandie
I have three nativity sets up in my house, a miniature one made of wood which is lovely, a large one with lights on it to showcase all in it and a gorgeous ceramic one that used to be my Mother's. This is the reason for the season. I love it.
I do cherish this season - so much. It's such a special time of year!

Susan your creche is beautiful. Yes, I treasure this time of year too. I am going on a holiday house tour today with my daughter, granddaughter and others.
I ♥ the detail of your creche characters! And, yes, I cherish the season - the sights, the sounds, and the sentiments. In one sense it's essential for my emotional stability in these dark, winter days. In another sense, it's basis - the birth of the Savior - is essential for my spiritual life and stability. Sometimes it's hard to separate the two....
I cherish this season and the reason for it! I have a couple of nativity scenes and they are really precious to me. Yours is gorgeous and I also like the idea of a votive burning...reminds me of church. hugs, Linda
Haven't even thought about doing any decorating around here. Although we do see a bit of holiday festivity in some of the stores, it otherwise seems like every other day and just another month. I do have a clay nativity scene from New Mexico that a friend brought back for me. Maybe next weekend I will get some things out. Right now I am cleaning as we have a friend from Sri Lanka coming on Tuesday. Have a great week. Tammy
I love the Christmas season, and I celebrate His birth the whole year through!
So pretty. I love the glow from the red glass holder.
Hugs,
Mary
I do cherish the holidays! I love Christmas. I like to light my tree early in the morning when it is still dark outside and watch the glow. Ah....
