Alleluia, the Lord Has Risen!

"He has risen. He is not here!"  ALLELUIA!!!!!

Today is a big day for Christians.

It's Easter and it commemorates the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

It's a day for great celebration because His death gave hope for all mankind.

Today, in our house, we will have a special dinner of turkey with stuffing, gravy, spiral ham, creamy whipped potatoes, salad with balsamic dressing, rolls and  cranberry sauce.

For dessert there will be coconut cake, a sweet braid with a cream cheese filling with just a hint of lemon, and soft sugar cookies.

There's also a glass dish filled with pastel colored chocolate candies just for the occasion.

Wine, lemon water, soda, and coffee, of course, will be served, too.

Guests are bringing some of the food and for that, I am very grateful.

In turn, they will receive little festively wrapped gifts.

May your day be blessed, too. May peace and love fill your heart and good fortune shine down on you, your family,  and friends.

On holidays, as well as every day, I feel so incredibly blessed to have been given the precious gift of faith.

It has helped me immensely through this journey of life.

God is so good and generous to bless us abundantly.

Happy, Happy Easter!

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday! Isn't it a glorious day? Just back from church and now on to preparing our feast. Can't wait to see my "babies" and enjoy all of God's blessings. Kit

The sweet braid looks and sounds so wonderful!
Yes, the gift of faith is life changing, life sustaining. Can't imagine trying to go it alone, with no faith or hope.
Happy Easter!

What a fine menu & beautiful setting and gifts. After a wonderful celebration at church, we drove to OH with a meal in the crock pot - potatoes and ham, cinnamon applesauce, a layered salad, radishes, & rolls. We shared it with my parents (my mother is slowly slipping mentally and I'm SO glad we did this).

Then we began our travel south. We've stopped now at a comfortable hotel and will continue our journey to my brother's place after breakfast in the morning.

What a wonderful day this Easter was...81 degrees and gorgeous out...flowers blooming everywhere and I had a gorgeous centerpiece sent to me by my daughter..I cooked a rack of lamb, chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts and broccoli and had strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was fun to cook for my two best friends. The Lord is Risen and I'm very grateful!
