Pink Glass Swan: Imperfect Yet Still Beautiful

Okay folks, this is the tale of the pink glass swan.

While attending an indoor church yard sale, the shopping was fun, fun, fun.

It was kind of like a treasure hunt.

Long tables filled a huge room and all of them were piled high with everything from coffee makers, embroidered table runners and napkins, hankies, and on and on.

Tucked in between all the random items was the little pink glass swan shown in this post.

Her price tag was $1.00.  One sweet little green backed dollar! Woo hoo!

So graceful and lovely, I picked her up. Ohhhhhhh, her neck had been broken and glued back together so she wasn't perfect.  (Thus the bargain price, I'm sure.)

But gosh, she was still really pretty.

Do we have to be perfect to be acceptable?  Not by a long shot.

Plus, her glass body was the perfect shade----pink----my favorite. She'd blend in nicely with some other cranberry glass pieces.

So here she is, still lovely with her imperfection, in her new home on top of the living room television cabinet!

Do you think she's  pretty?

Today we are joining Home and Garden Thursday at Kathy's blog, A Delightsome Life. Go on over and you will have a lot of fun seeing all the great entries. Thanks  for hosting Kathy!

Do music boxes count? I have one from Switzerland, one from Italy, one from Christmas and several more that my grandchildren LOVE to play with when they visit..some are pianos as I teach lessons on piano. Many or almost ALL were gifts.

Ooooo. Good thing you said only ONE of our collections otherwise I would be here all might typing away. I'll settle for crystal. Nothing prettier in a lighted curio cabinet or lined up along a south side window, sending prisms of colored lights throughout the room.

Love, Love, Love it, I think there is nothing wrong with a little imperfection. It reminds me of the story of the ugly ducking who turned into a beautiful swan. I think she will be very happy you rescued her and thought fit to let her hang out with the posh lot. :) x

Your collection is gorgeous. I have a clean glass swan that is half decoration and have pickle dish that I inherited from my grandmother. It's one of my favorite pieces.

She gives grace and balance to your collection of cranberry glass. I think she is beautiful and I think nothing is perfect - so she fits in fine. I love it.
That table of cranberry is nice.
Love, sandie
