Signs of Sweet and Sultry Summer

It's been soooooo hot and humid here lately there have been moments when it felt like melting was a strong possibility.

At those times, jumping into the public fountain, shown above, sounded like a doggone good idea.

It is very clear to me I am not a hot weather girl at all. As stated before on this blog, even face-freezing weather appeals to me.

Don't get me wrong. This is not a complaint post.

There are parts of summer I really love. For instance, flowers make my heart flutter.

Is that how it is with you, too?

Every year, there's a spot in one New England town filled with a  lovely display of petunias in shades of pink and purple.

My car automatically slows down when driving by because I like to look at such loveliness.

Just passed by them tonight! Sumptuous!

Now today, Saturday, I have a wish for you.  It's that today something will make you smile.

That will be your sunflower moment!  Isn't that a nice thought?

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU LOVE ABOUT SUMMER?

What a lovely post. I do love flowers in the summer and all the beautiful colors. Unfortunately we don't get many sunny days/year over here, but I am happy anyways. Happy to be in good health.

Have a lovely day

mmm what is the one thing about summer that i love??
Answer: IT ..SUMMERTIME you know to me I think of it as just the way God made us. In the midst of winter's cold we long for spring then as we settle into the changes that spring brings I look forward to seasonal changes that come with summer..yes even in the deep south [Alabama] and of course as summertime begins to drag on there is nothing like the daydreaming [un]realities of Fall that is soon to be but again as we are face to face with Thanksgiving [gatherings, food, football games, Christmastime, decorating] we can't resist whispering a little prayer for a little real wintry [unseasonable here] weather. On any one of those surprise snow days it's no a surprise to find me in minimal clothing padding around in the snow covered yard and deck. Just the way God arranged my DNA.
Were we talking about summertime? oops I digress. lol

I too love all the flowers but I also love being able to spend time with friends by the pool. Relax, cookout and just enjoy time with them outside. I'm not a fan of all the heat but that's what air conditioning is for! hugs, Linda

Like you, I love the flowers. I also love the longer days, cool mornings, and sunsets in the evening.

Did you ever watch Murder She Wrote - it was supposed to be filmed in New England somewhere - Maine I believe - how far are you from Maine? I love your sunflowers. sandie

Lovely flowers, Susan! Love them, but the main thing I like about Summer is going to the beach! Hubby and I wait all winter for it. New England and the Island are much the same. Lots of beach and lobster! Thanks for visiting and I hope you're having a delightful weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

What do I love about summer? Well, fresh tomatoes and fresh corn from our garden - but I think we could have that without such sweltering heat! In fact, the corn would probably do a little better if the weather were a bit cooler. The lettuce would last longer, too.

That water fountain does look very tempting. I think just sitting next to it would feel great. We don't have much flowering this time of year, though I just took photos of 6 pots of my moss roses with their pretty pink blooms. It's a good thing I don't mind being at home because it's too hot for much else. Wishing you a great day. Tammy
