Imperfect Angel

It would be easy for me to write a book titled "Confessions of a Pack Rat."

It's so doggone hard for me to eliminate things, even broken objects,  around the house.

Even though there are dozens of angels around here, when one fell and his head broke off, I couldn't throw him away.

He actually hovered in my hand above the trash can for a moment.

Then the rationalizations began.

"Well, Susan, you can glue him back together in a jiffy."

"Awwww, he's so cute. Fix him."

"His angel cousins, sisters, brothers, and the rest of the legion will miss him if you put him in the trash."

So for months his head and separated body sat on a shelf in my home office. (That's pathetic, right? Maybe I need therapy. ha ha)

Finally, with Valentine's Day coming, I glued him back together and sat him on a shelf held up by, what else?  More angels.

He seems to be in a perpetual state of  throwing a kiss.

He's the cutest little angel ever and I'm glad he didn't get tossed out.

Unless you look really hard, you cannot tell he once lost his head but found it again!

DO YOU FIX BROKEN OBJECTS AROUND YOUR HOME OR TOSS THEM?

Do I ever, let me tell you,I'm a cupid Angelaholic and have them everywhere. Most of the ones in the garden are missing something or other because my hubby is the clumsiest person when it comes to my little treasures. I don't let him near any inside, but the garden is another matter.
They are disguised in some form or other. Ha Ha. He has had the odd accident inside and glued them before I see them LOL
Love your little Angel, and the perfect place for him.xx

Your cherub looks like he was never broken. He has such a personality I can see why you kept him and fixed him. I like to declutter and do give away some things to charitable groups.

Broken things do go in the trash in my house but I would have saved that angel if it were mine too!

Looks like you did a great repair job...glad you saved the little guy. Also thanks for visiting and commenting at my blog tonight. Yes, I fell off the wagon hard yesterday after not thrifting for weeks..but...I did get rid of more than I brought in! Have a good weekend....

Around here, it depends on the degree of the damage. If it's a clean break, I repair it, but if it has shattered, I weep a few moments before tossing the pieces and slivers into the trash. I would have been happy to repair this little guy, since it was a simple thing to do, and he is so adorable! Happy he is still overseeing your home! :-)

I'm a salvager. A ribbon around the angel's neck would make a nice touch.

If it's something I really like I'll find a way to repair it. I have a Buddha and a fairy for my gardens that have their heads glued on. The other angels surely would have missed this cherub if it went in the trash.

Beautiful angel, good thing he got his head back. If something is mendable I will fix it and put it back together. Enjoy your weekend.

Sitting on my desk, right next to me is a broken piece that I could not toss. Now the next question is how long will it take me to glue it. Glad you put the head on the angel it is a sweet piece.

Haven't we all been there...lost our heads, but got it together again! I wouldn't have parted with this angel either, XOXO

He is adorable Susan and I'm so glad you fixed him. I repair things if I can and have had to toss a few items beyond repair and it hurts even then! Sending you hugs, Linda

He's a huge angel!! glad you fixed him - I can't imagine what else you would put there!
It's according to how broken things are if they are pitched or glued.

I usually try to fix stuff. You can't even tell his head fell off. You could always tie a little pink ribbon around his neck. :) Best wishes, Tammy

Hello from Spain: in my house I try to fix broken things. It pains me to throw things away. Every detail of my house has a memory for me. Your angel is perfect again. You did well not to throw it away. Keep in touch

Eventually - they may be repaired.:-)
Sometimes, they do make it into the trash, too. Very often, they reside much as your broken angel - a very nice one, by the way - did before recovery arrives.
