Thankful To Be Blessedly Home

Joining Thankful Sunday #7 on Linda's blog, A La Carte.
Stop by her blog and say "hello."

Most weeks life takes me out of our home every day.

With a couple part-time jobs, helping take care of my granddaughter while our daughter goes to her own part-time job, doing errands, grocery shopping, and swimming for exercise at an indoor community pool, staying home is quite impossible.

As a matter of fact, the hours I'm able to be home are a tremendous blessing.

So on this beautiful Sunday, I'm going to say that being blessedly home is what I am immensely grateful for.

(First, however, I'm going to attend a baby shower!)

This is especially true on frosty cold days that require trudging through snow and putting up with face-freezing temperatures.

If I'm able to be home, I'll put on a crock pot of soup, light a fire in the fireplace, and work around the house,  thoroughly enjoying being in the comfort of home.

It's also fun to look out the windows and see what's going on in the outside world.

The hearts you see in the windows in this post are still up, sweet reminders of Valentine's Day, along with a few X's and O's for hugs and kisses!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING HOME? DO YOU CONSIDER BEING HOME A BLESSING?

I'm definitely a "home-body"--always have been. My job occasionally takes me away and, although I love what I do, I don't like hotels! I'd rather be at home, even doing housework instead of traveling, XOXO

Dear Susan,
This lavender heart really caught my eye, it is stunning with the snow in the background. I too treasure my time at home. Enjoy the baby shower and stay warm!!

Hugs always!

Your day sounds good to me! But when hubby stays in, the house is not the same. Today he headed for his shop...so I have lunch ready, laundry almost done, bath taken, and blues and jazz up at full volume...now the slower part...reading starts....a good day with sunshine....

I would leave those hearts up as long as they make you feel happy! I also appreciate being home, after many decades of full-time work outside the home. It is not fancy by anyone's definition, but it's HOME, and it feels comfortable to me! Enjoy your day, Susan! :-)

Hello from Spain: beautiful pictures. I'm like a whole week away from home. I have to work from 8 am to 6 pm. I love my home because it is so wide and warm. So over the weekend I try not to leave home. Keep in touch

Your home is beautiful because a beautiful person lives there. I think the people make it home. A good one or a bad one.

I feel my home is my safe place -

You are a busy lady so I know just how much you love to be at home when you can. I absolutely love being home too. Though I also like to get out now and then. Happy week ahead.

I know what you mean about those days when you just get to "BE HOME"...they are such a blessing for sure.
You still have so much snow! That just seems so odd to me.
Enjoy your day-and being home.
Love,
Linda

I love being home..have four lovely days in a row off and I am really enjoying taking a nap if I want and just walking around in my nightgown..ha. Yes, being home is a blessing when you work full time at my age.

Cleaning while soup simmers and a warm fire crackles sounds like pure nirvana... I second what you said! Also, the first shot with the purple heart on the window is brilliant!

Susan, what a beautiful post. You describe perfectly the beauty of home. There really is no place like home and I miss being there, even when I'm on the road on some magnificent road trip. It always feels good to go home.

Ironically, I have a blog scheduled to post later this morning (It is 1:30 AM and, yes, I'm wide awake) that talks about home.

I LOVE being home. Adore it. I never get bored. I feel so blessed to be at home, do whatever I like, cook, relax, craft, see my lovely family. As a matter of fact, we are all quite the homebodies- even our college age daughter. Home feels so good, doesn't it?
Have a great week and hope you get to spend some time at home!

To tell the truth home is very nice now, it completely paid for warm or cool whatever is needed, the beer fairy and I are happy with our animals, the two cats and Pidge and visits from Angus and the odd people who drop in well most of them. When I was young I was always in a hurry to go places now not so much I'm content to fiddle around at home.
